The grocery chain said the labor action at two California facilities did not impede its operations and called the Teamsters’ claim that 600 workers took part “wildly inaccurate.”
Today, the Teamsters applauded Representative Jimmy Gomez's (D-CA) oversight request sent to the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), the Department of Labor (DOL), and the Department of Transportation (DOT), outlining serious concerns regarding Chedraui/Smart & Final's unfair labor practices (ULPs) and calling for regulatory, legislative, or enforcement actions.
Over 600 workers, members of Teamsters Local 630, have been on strike for two weeks at two Chedraui-owned Smart & Final grocery warehouses in the City of Commerce and Riverside in the Los Angeles area.
