Instead of Vegas, Boston? That's good. Too much unnecessary Union spending in Vegas

This will SO MUCH more expensive than Vegas. Rooms at Paris Hotel in Vegas, where Unity has been for years, go for $125 a night. Compare that to $329 per room in Boston. That's more than double the cost. Plus, Las Vegas is on average the cheapest airport to fly into (see the link below) with average airfare costing $264.24. Boston is ranked #27 with average airfare costing $386.07. Given that airfare and hotel costs account for the majority of expenses for these things, this is going to cost substantially more than past years. When people hear about conferences in Las Vegas, they think of extravagant costs, over-the top expenses etc. But the reality is that it's one of the more affordable locations to hold large events.

Great analysis, thanks DBB. Always nice to have clear information thrown into the discussion. The Teamster relationship with Las Vegas carries a lot of baggage and not the best image for the union but neither is chanting "Fuck Gavin Newsom". Las Vegas is by far the best economic choice and probably the best value for dues money spent.
