I would have been happy to strike for an immediate $25/hr PT rate alongside other issues, but Gindin never mentions the CDL when he goes after the FT/PT divide at UPS. That's a bit off.
That said, Eidlin predictably refuses to engage on the question of TDU's independence. It is difficult for TDU to manage its relationship with punks like Rainville peppered throughout the IBT and the Locals. But, Eidlin hides behind a simplistic 'either/or' - TDU can either work with the IBT, or it can be entirely on the outside. That's incorrect.Comment

I’m thinking 86% of the membership would not strike for a starting wage for the part timers. In a perfect world we could have gotten $5 over five years as full timers and threw the other $2.50 i to the compensation package for the existing part timers that have seniority. The $21 to start is more than adequate.Comment

TDU is a hack. They sold the Vote No Movement out in 13. They were all for union run benefits and getting rid of the MOB clause. They kept saying vote no till UPS gets it right. Their lawyer put out a letter telling everyone how illegal the contract was and that we were better off with company insurance. Ken Paff made sure to scrap that letter after posting it.Comment
