    The sad truth is that our union allows opportunistic and often thuggish people to succeed. Not saying there aren't good people out there doing solid work in their locals, but few of them have bigger aspirations because they know the juice isn't worth the squeeze. I certainly ran as fast as I could in the opposite direction after I got a taste of how dysfunctional national politics are. Ron Carey was a once in a century leader. I'm not sure the conditions exist for someone like that to come along anymore.

      I don't see any reason to say Ford and Campos are unhappy. Are they not enjoying their multiples? Or more likely they talk about their displeasure outside the meeting room like so many others. Perhaps someone needs to remind them why they were elected. Both seem to think their role is to sit quietly in the corner. At this point there is only one with the balls to not go along. Taibi is hardly worth mentioning, still suffering from Stockholm syndrome.

        Nepotism and cronyism. Those that are appointed in certain places are not their because who they can lead, it's because they are "yes" men and butt kissers
