    TDU: 10 Reasons to Support OZ

    TDU members are proud to support the reelection of Sean O’Brien and the O’Brien-Zuckerman Teamsters United Slate. Here are 10 reasons why.

    TDU members have participated in every single Teamster International Officer election. We know what it takes to run a serious opposition campaign. The Fearless Slate has failed every test. They don’t deserve our support.

      Sez the clown that lost 5 local elections. It's like asking Charles Barkley to correct your golf swing. Hilarious ????

    As a TDU member, having first joined in 1977, I’m not supporting the OZ O’Brien/Zuckerman Teamsters United Slate. TDU should correct their article on this subject.

        I seem to remember Halstead being totally against supporting O’Brien, didn’t he argued against the endorsement when TDU decided to support?

          I don’t know if it is true but I heard Paff over ruled all his attempts to stop the endorsement.

          Never been a supporter of Halstead but he is making valid points. The main one being that there is a responsibility to the membership to have your shit together if you step up to run and gain their trust. Chaos and dysfunction always causes the membership direct and indirect harm. This applies to the Steward level on up...

        Think about this.More than likely Paff or Levine wrote this, the alledged author (Halstead) has run for and lost 5 consecutive elections in his own local union. He also failed to get on the ballot in the West when he ran with Freddie Z and Tim Sylvester on the TDU endorsed Teamsters United slate.I will also submit the following resolution presented by Halstead and Ostrach to the TDU steering committee proir to endorsing O'Brien in the last election cycle;

        DRAFT MOTION FOR CONSIDERATION BY TDU/ISC

        Whereas, Fred Zuckerman made a unilateral disturbing change to Teamsters United by handing the top spot to Sean O’Brien (SOB) without any consultation with TDU or several other Teamsters United 2016 Slate Members; and
        Whereas SOB has a long record of anti-democratic activity and activity counter to the interests of rank and file Teamsters, including the following:
        SOB joined the Hoffa Slate in 2011[?] and 2016 and served the Hoffa Administration loyally for ??? years
        SOB worked with a high-ranking UPS Management Representative to stop a shop steward from participating in legally protected “VOTE NO” activities in 2013
        SOB was in charge of negotiating UPS supplements in 2013, 18 of which were rejected, and 3 imposed on members despite their having voted NO repeatedly
        SOB bought shame and damaging publicity upon the Teamsters by instructing[?[ his Local 25 agents to intimidate and threaten violence against a non-union crew attempting to film an episode of “Top Chef” in Boston
        SOB lied to the Election Supervisor investigators about his screaming profanities, insults, and trying to provoke a physical altercation with members exercising their democratic rights to speak on the IBT Convention floor.
        SOB threatened TDU members for running against his buddy, the old guard leader of Local 251 and was punished by the IRB for doing so
        SOB, as President of JC10, has refused and continues to refuse to process charges properly brought forth against a political ally in Local 251
        SOB, as a member of the GEB, voted to uphold the sham, trumped up charges against Tim Sylvester
        SOB, as co-chair of the New England Pension Plan, led it into critical condition and agreed to institute a two-tier plan that undermines the future of defined benefit plans
        SOB’s Local 25 was found guilty of running an illegal hiring hall that discriminated against a female member
        SOB has hired Brian Rainville, long-time aide to the corrupt John Coli, as his campaign manager
        Whereas, in light of the above, SOB is unfit and unelectable for IBT office;
        Therefore Be it Resolved that TDU shall immediately disassociate itself from Teamsters United and provide no assistance to the Teamsters United OZ Slate, including but not limited to providing or sharing any lists or allowing prior review of any written or social media publications;
        And Therefore Be It Further Resolved that TDU shall continue to lead the UPS and Freight Teamsters Contract Campaigns in its own name.

        In summary why should I listen to this guy's advice?
