SOB's Labor Secretary pick caught again

The birthday party was “renamed” in order to avoid greater scrutiny about using public funds.

Meanwhile, Sean's favorite Secretary of Labor has made it easier for employers to treat employees as independent contractors, allowing corporations to avoid the costs and responsibility for providing federal protections and benefits and, oh by the way, preventing the employees from joining a union. This DOL proclamation reverses efforts by the Biden administration, both through the DOL and NLRB, to broaden the definition of "employees," exactly what organized labor, including the IBT, demanded. The new MAGA rule will make it impossible to organize Roadie drivers, or whoever UPS next uses to steal IBT jobs. As for the MAGA - IBT, a vote of support for the thoroughly corrupt Secy of Labor, "the most engaged labor secretary we've had under a Republican administration." Please note that if she engaged in these activities with IBT funds in the IBT, she'd be the subject of a referral and thrown out of the union, if not also in jail for violation of the LMRDA. Can't wait for her appearance at the Convention.

    Norman2024: Very well said.

It would be interesting to see a compilation of all the worker protections and rights that have been eroded under the two Trump terms compared to whatever advances were made under the Obama and Biden administrations. The NLRB under Biden was the most pro-worker NLRB that I've seen. I commenced my four terms as a S/T and BA of Local 504 in 1990. Rosemary Pye was the Region I Director and things seemed to be handled the same way, whether it was the Bush, Sr., Clinton, or Bush, Jr. in office: They were not easy times after 8 years of Reagan and the increased use of "permanent replacements" during economic strikes and lockouts like International Paper that owned Carter Rice Paper, Local 504 largest bargaining unit. By example, under Biden, workers seeking to organize were permitted to record during captive audience union-busting meetings held by management. This resulted in ULP complaints in Local 251 organizing drives (the union-busters openly violated the Act all the time in these captive audience meetings); others here may have witnessed the same in their Locals' organizing drives. The reversals at both the NLRB and the USDOL are staggering. Maybe some younger members have the skills and means to catalogue all these reversals for Teamster rank and file members to see.

The question that many may have had, I believe has been answered: That question being: Was O'Brien's decision to ally with Trump and his MAGA administration strategic in his mind, was it personal, and/or both? My guess is it was both. As far as it being strategic, it was a miserable, failed, bankrupt, and immoral strategy from the start with his mission to personally dine with Trump at Mara Lago, and has slid downward ever since. O'Brien's statements and actions since his Mara Lago dinner, can only show the reality: SEAN O'BRIEN IS A MAGA REPUBLICAN and is leading our Union over a cliff.
And furthermore: In 2022, O'Brien was speaking at Bernie Sanders anti-oligarchy rallies with Sara Nelson! He gets elected under that banner and now look what we got! Unfucking real - but unfortunately its all too real.
