This is almost unbelievable the number of schemes these guys came up with, all to put more money in their already overflowing pockets.

It's a priviledge and an honor to be an officer in this union and greedy assholes like this destroy the Teamster reputation and make it much harder to organize.

How many Local Officers have "deferred compensation plans", setting additional money aside on a regular basis and collecting interest and paid out when they leave?

The next convention needs to close this loophole.

The next convention may pay lip service to these corrupt practices but rest assured they will do nothing! Too many officers lining their pockets and that’s who will be voting at this convention.

In 2021 Richard Hooker proposed that all the officers charged by the IRO for illegal activities should lose their retiree benefits. The hofficers and ozholes turned it down.

We don’t hear much if anything about the IBT “Family Plan “; the defined benefit pension fund covering International officers.

This was an early focus by TDU back in the day. Under Carey the IBT ended contributions into the Teamsters Affilates Pension Plan, by anyone know the current status of the IBT “Family Plan”?

TDU no longer reports on these incidents since that got a seat at the table! Guess they now feast with the rest of those at the table.

The "Family Plan" is alive and doing quite well.

O’Brien and Zuckerman are supposed to audit these locals and joint councils! They should be held accountable also for allowing such blatant practices to occur.

The fact that Griswold and Harren were both not paying the constitutionaly mandated dues rate should have been picked up in an IBT audit. OZ had a responsibility to check all candidate eligibility prior to getting them nominated for office on the OZ Slate. They've been serving and collecting handsome paychecks and their not even eligible to run!

Unfortunately I’ve seen this movie before!! When will they stop remaking the same story over and over?

Hard working trade unionists with the very best contracts and servicing deserve these perks. The rank and file understands.

"FROM: Robert D. Luskin, Independent Investigations Officer RE: DATE: Recommended charges against former Local Union 986 SecretaryTreasurer Chris Griswold and former President Sean Harren February 13, 2026

"The resolutions the IBT struck with GRISWOLD and HARREN imposed no discipline on them, did not make the local union whole for the funds they were responsible for diverting to their personal benefit or the dues they evaded, and, importantly, did not expose their wrongdoing to the union’s members. Instead, the dues payers who were responsible for generating the income that GRISWOLD and HARREN redirected to themselves through self-dealing were told only that the two had retired.512 Such an outcome does not adequately address the goals of the Final Order in rooting out and punishing corruption and deterring its recurrence."

The GEB lead by GP O'Brien: NO DISCIPLINE IMPOSED BY GEB FOR MISUSE OF UNION FUNDS. EXPLAIN THAT TO THE RANK & FILE MEMBERS!

No discipline encourages others to do the same.

                • So why can't the IBT leadership retire under the terms of the multi-employer defined benefit pension funds the rank and file retires under? I guess their lifestyle would take a big hit if that were the case. The inequities; the loss of understanding what its like to get by on the benefits we earned under the collective bargaining agreements we worked under; the blind support for Trump's MAGA program, even though no Republican voted for the Butch Lewis Act; having no fault with a US President that applauded the richest man on Earth (Elon Musk) for threats to fire his workers in the event they walked out on strike. That's where our current IBT GP stands. It boggles the mind.

Question is, knowing that SOB represents only the interest of himself and his cronies, just as trump does, will members continue to vote to keep him in office?

Earth One to TDU, come in TDU!

Wondering how or if you will report on this? You know, front page above the fold, like the old TDU use to do. Have fun spinning this story to protect your sugar daddies!

It’s OK TDU, as little credibility you have now, not reporting or major spin on this including O’Brien’s lack of auditing locals and joint councils and the constitutionally mandated dues issues will be viewed as the last nail in your claim as Teamsters for a DEMOCRATIC Union.

Hey, here’s an idea, get your pot of gold with-our-dues-money-O’Brien, to pay for some BerlinRosen PR, you’re going to need the help!

They did report it but tried to make Rome Aloise the center of the story! For crying out loud he has been gone for years, stop diverting the true problem of O’Brien doing nothing when he knew all about it!

The summary of the charge report goes on and on. The expensive booze, fine dining, treating friends and relatives to dinners and trips, big alcohol tabs, exclusive Dodgers boxes, seperate accounts to be paid with interest when they leave..... and they even shorted the union on paying their own dues, their dues for fucks sake!

What was O'Brien's response, a tap on the wrist and happy retirement take it all with you. Everything hidden from the membership. Where is the GEB on all this? Was this whole arrangement approved by the Board?
