Going to get to the point where it will need to be a nationwide strike to have any effect. This country needs to decide what we stand for and what we will not stand for.

      As stated above:

"The Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation, AFL-CIO along with regional bodies throughout the state, including the Saint Paul Regional Labor Federation, the West Area Labor Council, the North East Area Labor Council and the East Central Labor Council."

Are any Teamster Local unions members of these regional organizations?

As is normally the case, silence from IBT/TDU/SOB, don't want to piss off their big orange boss. Disgusting .

So has anyone heard anything whether Teamsters 120 in Minnesota is supporting this general strike, Tom Erickson has not been a big Trump fan and Local 120 has immigrant members that are being threatened. It's an opportunity for a Teamster leader to step up.

A general strike IS the solution to this problem. If any Teamsters JCs or Locals or TDU were to advocate for a general strike as a response they would have to answer to Trump's BFF (O:Brien). That's how the sellout plays everything. Don't expect much if anything. They are mostly complicit. Makes me wanna puke in my own mouth.

Read Witlen’s blog on this site , he tells the truth about how the “ leadership” of the union has fallen inline for personal gain for decades.
              Read it yourselves.

Good thing a couple Teamster Locals are speaking out a little, but what happened to Tom Erickson? Guess he didn't get permission to speak out.. In this union it's more important to not piss off Trump-O'Brien than defend workers, even teamsters. Local 120 with 15,000 members could do a bunch, but nothing, crickets.

Hey Vic200, I had basically the same thoughts!

Looks like TDU worked up enough courage to report on “Teamster Solidarity in Minnesota” as “Teamster local unions and members in Minnesota are taking action to protect immigrant workers.” This action is in opposition to Trump’s sending thousands of ICE agents to Minnesota. One must wonder if TDU had permission from MAGA’s favorite union leader.

The TDU article highlights comments and actions of members from Local 638 (About 5000 members) and Local 320 (About 1500 members). Good luck and congratulations to these brave Teamsters for standing up and participating publicly! Hopefully their activities will restore at least a small amount of respect for the Teamsters Union.

One could think, maybe TDU is having second thoughts about its reputation and its blind loyalty to and willful acceptance of O’Briens support of the antiunion/worker President.

Nope, that’s not what is likely going here! Sometimes it not what they report but what they don’t report. The new TDU reports on Local 638 & 320 involvement. In my opinion, what TDU neglected to report on is the 3rd Teamster Local in Minnesota, Local 120, the largest local with a membership of nearly 15,000 in five states: Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

TDU’s apparent support of Locals 638 and 320 is great, but shouldn’t questions be raise about Local 120 Principal Officer-GEB Member, Tom Erickson's silence? Thinking the Old TDU would have asked, is Erickson silent because O’Brien would retaliate like he did when Palmer questioned the UPS agreement or remove Erickson from all assignments? Would Erickson still be allowed on the slate? Would his salary of $294,630 (2024) be in jeopardy? Would other Minnesota Labor Unions view Erickson’s silence as a further decline in Teamster solidarity, promoting O’Brien’s “Teamsters Against Everybody?” Would Teamster members in Local 120 even support the general strike due of the lack of education from the IBT, JC, Local or TDU that the directions of the current Presidents (Trump & O’Brien) are not in their best interest? Are the Teamster members in Minnesota confused as to why Local 638 & Local 320 supports the general strike while the leadership of Local 120, with a direct connection to O’Brien, is silent?

There are many issues the Old TDU would have reported on instead of providing cover for Erickson and O’Brien’s lack of leadership.

Why does it have to be that way? We all have the opportunity to vote him out. He thinks there's no way he can lose, but if we want better representation, it's up to us to change it.

Faith leaders, labor unions, and community groups in Minnesota have banded together to call for a state-wide general strike today to protest the “ICE campaign of terror." It's kind of a big deal.
