Maybe all these ball busting, historic, and irrational contracts aren't very long sighted for our members. It's easy to put companies down. Hoffa and his predecessors took a shitload of political heat for letting members at least vote on their contracts and jobs, which all had Union benefits. SOB and Fuzzy Fred trashed the tentative carhaul and freight agreements for 10 years while good and smart union officials got the best contracts possible in difficult times. AND LET THE MEMBERS VOTE. Now it all just goes to crap and no one says shit. We got no members left in core industries with Ups down about 40 K this year alone. And no serious organizing. TDU sits on the sidelines after 20 years of also trashing some moderate but industry sustaining NMAs. Did Standard Fwding members need a $6 hr increase only to fold like a cheap suit a year later? Could you not handle the complex task of putting companies together at Yellow? I guess since there are no union jobs to go to, they cant vote in next election so who cares. Keep patting yourselves on the back with eliminating these "problems" cause at this pace, you'll be all that's left. Maybe egotistic, vindictive, and poorly educated people shouldn't be running the Union.

That's the point. Most will never find union jobs, so they won't-can't vote. Problem solved.

I hate to agree but the OZholes don't give two shits about this membership. As wacky Paffy used to say they are just managing the steady decline of the union.

I was talking to a Business Agent today. He said that 10 Roads closed up also.

I guess being the freight director doesn't count for much other than an extra salary. The backbone of the Teamsters is on life support and no organizing in the core industries. I guess I'll go by me some Teamster pot for my aching back.

The move took the Teamsters by surprise just days before the new year.
