He has always seen to his own self interest, he has supported only people who could advance his position and then left them once it was beneficial to him. He followed the same pattern he always has, he attacked Zuckerman and Sylvester at the convention and now Zuckerman is his ally and number two man. Zuckerman who said he would have fired O’Brien instead of suspending him if he was in charge when he threatened members with retaliation ( it’s on YouTube, both the threat and zuckerman’s statement) and so it continues. He travelled the country with Bernie Sanders when first in office, now he sees his future is with his dinner buddy Trump. So let me say this , please don’t be surprised at anything he does to self promote his own status. He is looking past the teamsters to his future , “ Senator Corleone, Governor Corleone “ ,sorry , sec.of labor O’Brien. Or perhaps a partnership with his Boston buddies the Wahlberg’s, for a TV series on the “ Tough Boston Teamster Hero O’Brien “ where of course he would play himself. There was a show being planned just prior to the Top Chef disaster, but that died after that. Once again O’Brien took no blame “ I knew nothing “ but his number two took a plea bargain to avoid going to jail.

So in retrospect maybe it would be an interesting show, those of us who have known him for years we know his ego, he will always feel he deserves more.
Hope he gets his wishes and moves on away from our union , it would be a win win.

I agree! O’Briens supports and thanks the Dems, then the abrupt about face, does raise many questions. My question is, what could Trump have on O’Brien? I have no inside information and only rely on news reports or internet searches regarding the “Top Chief” incident in 2014. (More info Below)

Trump demands “His” DOJ and their acceptance to go after Comey, Letitia James, investigations of Lisa Cook, Chris Christie, John Bolton, Adam Schiff, and Jack Smith are well documented. Would it be beyond belief that perhaps the dinner at Mar-A-Logo was more than just dinner? Could it be conceivable that without preelection support, should Trump win, (Election forecasting sites generally considered the race a toss-up) O’Brien would be added to Trumps enemies list?

(More Info) According to the Deadline 2021 reporting and other search results, “Local 25 had set up a picket line on June 10, 2014, outside the Steel & Rye restaurant in the Boston suburb of Milton, where the show (Top Chief) was filming after having been chased out of Boston by the Teamsters, who wanted the producers to sign a contract and hire their guys. O’Brien, president of Boston’s Teamsters Local 25, steadfastly has maintained that he was not responsible for arranging the picketing of the show that led to five of his members being arrested and indicted for attempted extortion in a picket-line incident in which racist, homophobic and misogynistic taunts and threats of violence were hurled at members of the show’s cast and crew.”

Sean O'Brien was never formally charged with or cleared of wrongdoing in the 2014 Top Chef case. He has maintained his innocence and was not a defendant in the trial that focused on five other Teamsters from his local/
