To be frank: Wtf does O'Brien know about tariffs? He is a truck driver that is not in any position at all to speak about intricate factors of economic systems. What he should be talking about is language that he negotiated with UPS that has loopholes which do not protect the membership from downsizing its workforce and automation. Negotiating language that has loopholes which do not cause the employer to purchase vehicles with AC. He should be talking about how he refuses to oppose a viciously anti-union POTUS that hates unions, is a blatant racist, that debases and devalues women, boasts about "firing" workers, refers to KKK as "good people", has a criminal record. O'Brien should be speaking in opposition of Local Union officers drawing $400k salaries when they only work 20 hours per week (if that). I could go on. "Tariffs" Sean? Really? Just admit it. You have a high school education with no knowledge of economic systems. You clearly just want to suck up to, and be publicized with, another tough talking empty suit for your own personal egotistical reasons.

That about sums it up, particularly the enormous holes in the UPS contract.

O’Brien’s similarities to Trump become more apparent everyday! His self absorbed narcissistic boasting about himself is increasing.
    He is historic!!

At least in his own mind!

He knows as much about tariffs as much as he knows about balancing a pension fund. Let's not forget he flunked out of UMASS within one year of attendance for partying like a rock star!

Anyway you look at it, O'Brien's support for making English language proficiency a requirement for a CDL license, is business unionism and worse. It is narrowing the rights that workers and Teamster drivers currently have. It will be used by Employers to put up roadblocks for Teamsters that want to bid into driver vs. warehouse jobs. It will further divide workers based on their first language. Hell, when CDL requirements were first introduced in the early 1990's, Teamster locals produced copies of the tests for all endorsements along with the multiple choice correct answers, so that members could pass a test to perform a job they had safely performed for years.

Connecticut Local 559 Business Agent Tom Gilmartin gave our Local 504 in Boston the "Teamsters Local 559 CDL Study Guide". It contained the questions and correct answers for all CDL endorsement tests. Gilmartin said: "Take it to a Union printshop and put your Teamster local number in place of 559. Our members in 504 from that era were very happy to have that assistance. In Local 504, we had it translated into Spanish, in writing for our members to prepare for the CDL tests. It was translated by a Local 504 member, Oscar Alvarez, who worked as a machine operator at Romanow Container on Old Colony Ave. in South Boston.

O'Brien is doing the bosses' work! He must be voted out along with his all but one (VP John Palmer) silent slate.
