Is this about racism? I believe it's about the failure of our union to properly vet a hire. Was he ever a Teamster? Out of 1.3 million members this is the guy we hired? Without as much as a google search? No one knew until a co worker googled him? This is a failure of epic proportion and they fired the Teamster who googled him and reported this. This is shameful! What we're seeing now is a coordinated attack by TDU leadership on VP John Palmer, their doing it because they fear him. Even to the point of excusing hiring that results in the union employing a white nationalist as an organizer.

Palmer from the beginning has been the voice of truth and transparency on the GEB. TDU leadership fears John Palmer because they know that the majority of TDU members agree with him, which has to piss off their OZ handlers.

I think the members have the right to know the process by which this person was hired. Why would we hire off the street instead of looking within the membership? Certainly now that there are layoffs at UPS and other locations.

O'Brien has attacked immigrants some of which are his own members, posted a picture of a man holding a gun to a woman's head on a park bench, agreed to JD Vance's trans phobic post, paid out 2.9 million of the memberships monies in order to settle a lawsuit for his termination of 13 organizers of color. TDU's response on MLK day was to post an article attacking those organizers as lazy. So VP Palmer asked correctly so, how does the IBT hire a guy who was the face of the Charlottesville white supremacist riot? TDU's convoluted response is to deflect and flip it onto Palmer. Palmer is not the one who failed to vet this racist, he's not an SEIU member or officer, and the National Guard discharged this clown after his despicable conduct. I challenge anyone to do a simple Google search on this and see how much stuff there is here and how long it's been up there. It's also sad that the staffer that pointed this out was terminated. The real question is what malfeasance, incompetence, racism, sexism, and other phobic behaviors are TDU willing to defend for their so called seat at the table?

Read the reddit link posted above, it's by the person who notified IBT leadership that they'd hired a white nationalist. They explain that they were subsequently fired.

Had to laugh at this one from the TDU Job Posting:

"Qualifications: Commitment to building a progressive labor movement"

Does that include blind commitment to O'Brien and by extension the ultra right and often racist policies of O'Briens hero Trump? Good luck finding the best considering TDU's complete colapse as a "reform" organization.
