"He's Selling Out" SOB faces backlash for cozying up to GOP

One labor journalist called his comments regarding right-to-work "shameful" and "embarrassing."

Does anyone else see the similarities between Trump and O’Brien?
They both assume there will not be another election.
They both have their own narrative.

They both are proud of mass firing and getting rid of services. They are both racists and hate women. They are both corrupt. They are both morally bankrupt. They are both freaked out by the LGBTQ community (ask yourself why). They are both isolationists.

While doing some research, I came across the Proceedings of the 1940 IBT Convention. The delegates were addressed by both Secretary of Labor Frances Perkins and FDR. If you want to see what a real pro-union president sounds like, I suggest you read Roosevelt's speech. "www.archives.org/details/Roosevelt_IBT convention_transcript" or "www.presidency.ucsb.edu/documents/address-teamsters-union-convention-washington-dc".

As for Perkins, she complimented the delegates for addressing the concerns of all workers, not just themselves. "It has been part of the glory of the American labor movement...that it has always desired to contribute to the common welfare. Never has there been a time...when the American labor movement has stood aside and said these matters of other people are of no interest to us, we are for the Teamsters and only the Teamsters. The American labor movement has never said that, and I hope it never will." A far fall to "Teamsters v. Everyone."

If this sparks your interest, you should also read Dan Tobin's state of the union address, some of which discusses the decimation of the European labor unions under Hitler. Other comments do not hold up as well, but are nonetheless, indicative of the time. "www.archive.org/details/ibt_proceedings_1940"

US politics is often defined by populism in rhetoric and elitism in practice. This is especially evident with the so-called “realignment” within the two
