Very much a board charge, and the board isn't currently functioning. The board hasn't really functioned for a very long time. Workers always need to win on our own.

Teamsters is asking the public to consider shopping elsewhere while the contract dispute drags on.

They reached a tentative agreement yesterday. Seems like the members did well.

Thank god we didn’t need a practice picket line!

You don't know Local 25 very well. They just won a 3 week strike against Airgas, a small group that extended picket lines in New England. 900 at S&S on strike would've shut down all the stores.

Since you seem to know so much why don’t you simply correct Faust?

This is not a pro S&S statement. I support the members greatly here. That said, there is not enough info mentioned here to have a strong opinion on an unfair labor practice. Moreover, the Board does not initially decide on such a matter. A Regional Director does (Boston.) Now, that said, the employer may very well request review of a Director's decision. THAT would go to the Board in Washington causing certain delay. Just sayin'.

MASSACHUSETTS TEAMSTERS SECURE TENTATIVE AGREEMENT WITH STOP & SHOP

After a credible strike threat, Teamsters Local 25 has reached a tentative six-year agreement covering more than 900 workers at Stop & Shop’s Freetown distribution center. The agreement guarantees the facility remains open, secures the largest wage increases in the workers’ history, and strengthens benefits.

The contract delivers the largest economic gains ever negotiated for Stop & Shop Teamsters. New hires will receive an 80 percent wage increase over the length of the agreement, while veteran workers will see an over 30 percent raise. In addition, the agreement preserves top-tier Teamsters health care, significantly increases pension contributions, and ensures the long-term operation of the Freetown facility.

“Stop & Shop tried to strong-arm our members by pushing a nonunion, substandard company health care plan, but our members refused to be intimidated by the company’s corporate threats,” said Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien. “We fought back against Stop & Shop’s corporate greed and sent a clear message that our members will not be bullied into accepting anything less than what they are worth.”
