TDU was successful in passing the concessionary filled UPS contract. Where are the safeguards for automation. In 10 days a large hub in Southern California is going to close due to automation. 300 some rnf Teamsters have to go around 30 miles to Empire Hub.
With all the attention going to the Amazon strike, rightfully so, what is being forgotten is hubs closing due to automation. We must have discussions on automation that goes beyond the "Teamsters must operate and maintain" thinking. Reducing the work day and/or week with no loss of pay and benefits must be on the table is one thought but "out of the box thinking" is required. UPS is the mist of their "Network of the Future" initiative so we need to start our own plan to address automation, robotics and AI.

Don't be a hater, O'Brien, Korgan and Donald Trump will save the Amazon workers!
