    Steven Greenhouse: O'Brien's Tantrum...

He appears to be hoping for a Trump victory, which would be a disaster for the Teamsters, but just maybe good for him.

Wow I remember not all that long ago that Greenhouse was a big cheerleader for SOB. It really doesn't make a lot of sense fom a union position when you look at the facts. Good article

"O’Brien also forgets that the Biden-Harris administration won enactment of three important pieces of legislation that labor unions enthusiastically supported: the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill and the bills to spur green energy and computer chip manufacturing in the U.S. Those laws will create hundreds of thousands of good-paying, blue-collar union jobs, many of them Teamster jobs."

Chuck Schumer worked with Republicans to pass the CHIPs Act, bringing hundreds (if not thousands, if you count construction) to New York State. This massive investment in manufacturing will reinvigorate areas of the country where jobs are scarce and towns have suffered, it will also protect us from China in the tech race. This is all good for workers and national security. Everywhere a shovel goes into the ground, there should be a Teamster there representing. Everywhere a new factory is built, we should be there, from construction to post-construction.

Why would SOB pick a fight with one of the highest-ranking Democrats, not to mention one of the highest-ranking officials, period, and then double down and BRAG about it? I wish Greenhouse would have said something about this.

When Harris wins, the Teamsters won't just be sidelined-the International will be considered an enemy, and rightly so. More than ever, the labor movement needs leaders with VISION and can see the path towards not only protecting jobs, but where Teamsters can organize.

Many of the former O'Brien Seanies are turning. Only TDU remains quiet.
