Multiple sources say he will be hosting reelection events nationwide and is demanding a $2,000 donation from every principal officer.

In this manner O'Brien will see where his support is and those who fail to attend his events and not donate the $2k will be deemed as part of the opposition and retaliated against.

Strange? What’s strange ? Hasn’t O’Brien already been forced to pay and even rehire people he fired for political reasons? Wasn’t that a judges order? Hadn’t he removed a series of officers from positions due to political differences? Dosent he have a history of threatening teamsters with being “ punished”?
So, what’s an officer to think is going to happen if they refuse to donate to him?

The GP, asking for donations means the Boston based EO must have approved fundraising this early. What this means is that the GP can extort the maximum donation from PO's, reps, etc , and the VPs will become totally dependent on him for campaign materials and funds. They couldn't raise money last time, so tdu funded the campaign, with no oversight. Democratic elections...hardly!
