What would possibly contain our excitement about the possibilities here? The JFK rank-and-file will vote on this, so there is no ratified agreement as of yet. By all indications, this agreement will pass.

He probably needs a majority of the Exec Bd but you have to have a document on which the rank and file can vote. My suspicion is the ALU is broke and falling apart. My sense is IBT Amazon leaders have talked a big game, mostly for 2022 pol. purposes, but on the ground, coordinated activities are far and few between. If youre organizers have a mostly been fired over 2 years nd new crew lacks leadership, this kind of "campaign" goes nowhere fast. It's called burning cash to make smoke with no fire ever coming.
Might explain why Ms Nieves is here, barking up the wrong tree, and not comprehending the process. Check your by laws please. Bigger issue is No real leadership on Amazon from Division or higher up on the food chain. Then again, We’re just a bunch of ex-reformers who like to question and complain so what do we know?
All I know we have no members at Amazon, kind of like the Port Division bluster that Carey and Hoffa funded as pet projects for their "leaders", mostly for folks who were loyal, needed a check, but not capable of real change. Low expectations. And yes, all that was done for decades to the tune of tens of millions of dues dollars that never went anywhere other than into PR and maybe a few headlines. Ask current leadership how many Port members we have? Chasing owner-operators is a waste of time just like a generic Amazon campaign is. Highly targeted, regional efforts could work but that takes a ton of time and analysis. For what? A couple hundred represented workers after 5 years?

To answer everyone’s question as simply as possible our constitution and By laws were drafted very poorly it basically gave Supreme power to the President , I became a dissident of the current leadership due to neglect of the Unions day to day operations and a slew of other grievances the other 2 officers formed an Alliance with the President and I was Ousted with a failed attempt to illegally remove me without a basis of charges or due process this was 8 months ago since then the Union spiraled into debt along with my “ removal” the executive board was also illegally disbanded over a zoom call in attempts by the President to assume ALL POWER with all this happening also Elections are taking place Connor Spence is running and so am I we both have our own slates and our own committees which we plan to UNITE after elections we have been fighting tooth and nail for a Union in JFK8 for over 3 years I have personally been at JFK8 for 5 years and still work there Connor was fired almost 6 months ago he has also expressed that the announcements was premature seeing as it hasn’t been communicated nor ratified with the membership but that is technically Christian Smalls responsibility not IBTs just another symptom of having an incompetent person in the position of President thank you to those who welcome me this will be an interesting new Journey for Amazon Warehouse workers nation wide .

Is the IBT swallowing the ALU wholly, or will it remain a semi autonomous group, like the communications workers or BLET?

Will the members be Teamsters or ALU members, affiliated to the Teamsters Union?

You mention the financial issues at the ALU, is the IBT bailing out the ALU?

What kind of position has Smalls negotiated for himself?

Finally, sister you will soon find out the IBT is very hostile to reformers and activist. The IBT expects 100% support for their plan, even when its not a good plan. Those of us that question their 0lan or their motives are targeted.
