ITOC: Call for May Day Actions Against UPS shift closures and layoffs, O'Brien's lies

    Fellow UPS Teamsters,

The truth has been laid bare: UPS CEO Tomé's chilling words confirm what many of us have feared. In her own words: "With Network of the Future, we are reimagining our network. We are leaning into automation in ways we never have before.Imagine, we are talking about automating every aspect inside of the buildings. We are also going to collapse some buildings that we don't need any longer into larger, more automated buildings."

    https://www.cnbc.com/video/2024/03/2...ad-before.html

But let's not forget the fiction we've been sold. Teamsters President Sean O’Brien’s empty promises of protection against autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence and robots are nothing but lies. His words are a smokescreen, a feeble attempt to cover up the union's complicity in the erosion of our rights and livelihoods.

Enough is enough. It's time for us to rise up and fight back. May Day, a day historically marked by workers' struggle and solidarity, is approaching. Let's use this day to mobilize like never before.

May Day holds a rich history of worker empowerment, dating back to the late 19th century when workers bravely demanded an eight-hour workday, better wages, and safer working conditions. It's a day that symbolizes our collective strength and determination in the face of oppression and exploitation. Let's reclaim this day for ourselves and for future generations of Teamsters.

We will not be silenced. We will not be sidelined. We demand real action to defend our jobs and secure our futures. Join us as we stand together, united in our fight for dignity, respect, and a future where workers come before profits.

This petition is just the beginning. While it is not enough, it is important that everyone gets others to sign up to receive regular updates from the Independent Teamsters Organizing Committee. Stay informed, stay connected, and stay ready to take action. Sign up now at www.independentteamstersorganizingcommittee.org

It's time to show UPS and our union leadership that we will not back down. Together, we can build an independent fighting force of Teamsters that refuses to be silenced or sidelined.

    Additional May Day History:

May Day, also known as International Workers' Day, celebrates the enduring spirit of workers worldwide in their struggle for dignity and justice. Originating from the Haymarket affair of 1886 in Chicago, USA, where workers courageously demanded an eight-hour workday, May Day serves as a reminder of the power of collective action. Despite facing violence and oppression, workers stood in solidarity, paving the way for improved working conditions and labor rights. Today, May Day continues to be a rallying cry for workers everywhere, inspiring us to stand united in our fight for a fair and just society.

I have an idea for you pal. You like to file charges and are upset about Union officials making too much money. I can alert you to a union official that is required to work 8 days a year but has missed 25% of his required days. This office has been doing this for years. This same officer could have represented the members and been in UPS contract negotiations and gave his input but was too busy staying home collecting a check. Let me know pal. I can give you his name. It’s John Palmer. As a vice president he is allowed to go to all national contract negotiations.

From what I understand Palmer’s the one telling the truth about the GEB so Lyin’ removed him from his duties. That’s a personal opinion. ITOC takes the position to not endorse any candidate as we are diverse and many of us don’t like bureaucrats

It's crucial to address the concerning situation surrounding John Palmer, who was evidently sidelined for daring to dissent. However, let's not allow this blatant suppression of voices within our union to overshadow the larger issue at hand.

Sean O'Brien's false assurances regarding the protection against automation, juxtaposed with the recent revelations from UPS CEO Tomé, paint a stark picture of the challenges we face. The truth is clear: our jobs are at risk, and our union leadership must be held accountable for their empty promises.

We mustn't allow ourselves to be divided or distracted. It's time for us to unite and demand real action to defend our rights and livelihoods. Let's stand together against the erosion of our jobs and the exploitation of our labor.

John Palmer as all over sean’s nutz pal. All over them. He had an issue with treating the other omen in the organizing department disparately. That is why he’s on the outside looking in pal. The dude is 67 years old and treats women like it’s back in the 60s. He’s not your pal or my pal. And he’s definitely not a martyr.

Let me ask you 25 Medford whatever your name is: how come you’re using Palmer as a distraction from these massive closures and layoffs that are happening right now as a result of automation? Palmer opposed this contract that Lyin’ said protected us from robots. As a ft inside worker I am more vulnerable to automation for now than the drivers, of course you’d say I should go driving but they are laying off drivers and cutting feeder routes as they chop up and obliterate entire buildings and send volume to automated places. So Lyin didn’t stop the robots. Why are you trying to distract from THAT. What do you have to say about that lie?

Palmer is a fraud. We knew he was a zero but we couldn’t kick him off the ticket. He was to revered by a TDU. He had issues with two particular women and had to be let go for it. After they would not reassign him he started talking. He was Freds guy and he stabbed him in the back. John Palmer has never win a local election. He lost every time. He has flipped on everyone who has ever helped him and has resorter to Steve Zieter as his only outlet. Follow the women and you will see why he collects 82 thousand a year to stay home. What I don’t understand is why he doesn’t go back to ABF? Is he to good for it or is he scared of covid?

I have seen you before. You aren’t even 5 foot tall. Nobody is worried about you. Bring your camera out and go to work. My favorite video you did was when you went to the IBT to have a protest. You were the only one who showed up to the protest you had your pockabook on

He is a solid 5 foot 9 pal. He is a hell of a lot more muscular as well. One this that Dana has going for him is that he has beaten UPS 11 times with termination. And he still bad mouths his local leadership. He owes Booker everything. This fucken guy.

25 Medford uses this thread to distract from Lyin’ and the mass automation layoffs announced by Carol to talk about Palmer! Well we aren’t falling for it. Lyin said what he said and it wasn’t true. Now good people are cleaning up his mess.25 Distraction

John Palmer was fired from organizing 2 minutes after swearing in on Hoffa's EBoard. Where did we hear this before? Can't have it both ways.
