The wages and benefits at UPS are higher than all UAW contracts. When should we expect the UAW workers to eclipse the package that UPS workers make. The only thing I can’t pinpoint is does the UAW have part time workers a d what are their benefits package and wages.

Two thirds of UPS workers are part-timers.

Only a quarter of the total members are drivers making the top rate.

FT air drivers and other inside FTers make way less.

      You obviously aren't a UPSer.

The majority of UPSers struggle to make ends meet because they make an unliving wage as part-timers.

Starting rate at UAW Big 3 is $28.

      Their PT workforce is tiny.

Edgar, I am as important to the west coast as you are. My seniority predates yours by 13 years. The Teamsters gave away the full timers starting in the middle 1970s. The person who did this was the architect of the very first UPS national master contract. His name was Dan Darrow. UPS is always going to be made up of predominantly part timers. A part time job is just that. A part time job. One of the things I’ve come across since 1997, with 22.3 classification employees is that they still like to work part time. Over 50% of 22.3 full-time employees don’t work a second shift and this goes on all over.

Does anybody know when the UAW wages will catch up to the UPS wages in this historic UAW contract? I’m pretty sure they won’t even be close, but maybe I’m wrong.

The UAW did what the Teamsters did at YRC. That's why their wages are so low.
