Local 396 Principal Officer and JALM Chairman Mineros

Local 396 members are reporting that their Principal Officer is scared shitless to field questions from his members about the UPS/Teamsters tentative agreement. So Victor got approval from Sean O'Brien to bring back Old Guard Teamster Andy Marshall to handle the 396 contract meeting. To Vic's credit, he realizes that without his former leadership, he can't handle chairing a contract ratification meeting.

Andy Marshall, who Sean O'Brien detests, will actually do a good job answering questions and propping up this weak agreement. Even Victor's own agents are privately complaining about Vic's inability to handle difficult meetings. But Andy will help get a ratification for a handsome price.

Victor knows that he will be asked difficult questions. And Vic's standard response to difficult questions is "That's Bullshit!."

Well Victor, it's time to put on your big boy pants on and stand up on your own, without training wheels.

The Southwest Packager Rider Agents privately talk about how incompetent Victor is when he chairs the JALM. They want former JALM Chairman Sam Stewart, who is well respected, to be reinstated.

Victor's election is coming up and he's worried, He's never been elected to office. It'll be interesting to see how this concessionary contract plays out, because Victor is screwed, whether the contract passes or whether it doesn't pass. Because he'll be know as the first Secretary Treasurer of Teamsters Local 396 to get only .25 cents into the Western Region of Teamsters Pension plan in the last 40 years.

Hopefully the members of the Southwest Rider are intelligent enough to reject this garbage.

Say what you want about Ron Hererra, but he never would have allowed a $.50 p/h Pension contribution cut.

This is fake news. Vic is doing his meeting himself. I love TeamsterLink but this is an outright lie. Vic is answering all the questions he is being asked and runs the meeting.

I'm not sure what meeting you attended, but Andy was sitting on stage with Vic and answered many questions. Vic asked Andy to come out of retirement and help him today at the meeting. It's time Vic leads a meeting without outside help.

When one member asked Vic about the loss of pension contributions, Victor's response was, "Have you ever negotiated a contract before?" What an ignorant and disrespectful response to a dues paying members hoping for an articulate response to his question. And what was ironic about Victor's response was the fact that this is the first UPS National Negotiating Committee he's ever sat on.

Local 70 Teamster sounds like Jay Phillips. The same Jay Phillips that sold out the membership for a two tiered contract.

So Mineros said at the Local 396 contract meeting that the Western Region Teamster members will still a receive dollar a year in Health and Welfare and Pension benefits. He said that UPS is keeping the .50 cents for pension in an account that is available to the West, if it is needed by the Western Conference Pension Plan. You can't make this stuff up. You can always count on Victor lying when he feels the right answer might hurt himself politically.

Western Region UPS Chairman Mark Davison said the the missing .50 cents that would have went into the Western Region pension, instead was negotiated into wages in the Western Region Tentative Agreement. A much different answer then his number two guy, Victor Mineros, gave to Local 396 members.

Local 952 Principal Officer and IBT/UPS International Representative Eric Jimenez said the .50 cents went to help fund the Central and New England Hybrid Pension Plans. Jimenez, to his credit gave the most honest answer out of all of the West Region UPS Leaders.

You'd thing these Western Region IBT/UPS reps would take a minute to have a Zoom call and make sure their responses to the membership would be the same, regarding the missing .50 cents in benefits.

The UPS Contract Meetings in Local 952, Local 63 and Local 542 were vast majority No votes. It's inconclusive what the vote will be in Local 396, because the 396 agents were very aggressive towards any dissent or complaints about the agreement. Many members reported that they were uncomfortable going to the microphone and voicing their concerns.

The biggest issue in that room for Drivers is Pension and everyone knows we're getting screwed whether they want to say so or not. Eric from 952 was the only believable person on the subject. They can lie now but we'll learn the truth. Never would have happened with RH.
