It's time to talk Vote No

For those of us who know Part Timers in most American cities can't afford less than $25 /hr, I contend that the only way we win the wage we need is through a successful national strike of UPS. With the way negotiations have gone, and O’briens rhetoric about the 'wins' for AC and eliminating 22.4 language, I see no other path to victory for PTers other than a clear, militant call to vote no on whatever TA comes through later this week.

TDU does not seem to have the 'intestinal fortitude' to stand up to the IBT at this time, so it is up to us to organize ourselves. I will be telling every coworker I speak to that I'm voting no unless we have $25 nationally and I will encourage them to do the same. Next step is, who's with me?

It’s this simple , the perception of most teamster elected officers is that part timers don’t vote . That may or not be true but it certainly seems that we are an afterthought when it comes to bargaining . “ The squeaky wheel gets the most grease “ these old sayings are true . The biggest fear that Oz has is a mobilized organization of part timers . It may be too late but we need get together and stand up for ourselves!

Anything less than $25 should be a no! Stop selling out the part timers. Nothing happens without them.

Gracias for the solidarity. If RPCD and full time insider workers do not get $55 with a two year progression, Imma be voting NO. We need wages and wage increase that are above inflation and that have real purchasing power,

Part-timers will no longer be an afterthought nor looked down upon. The part-time issues have been kicked down the road for far too long. Enough is enough. If the starting and base pay isn't $25 with $0.75 for every year of service and 5% wage increase it's a NO VOTE. $20 starting pay for part-timers is a slap to their face. If it isn't $55 with a two progression for RPCDs, it's a NO. Why do RPCD and cover drivers have to accept cameras off, CAMERAS SHOULD BE OFF, that is a NO VOTE. Another 5 year agreement with no "re-opener with a right to strike/right to strike re-opener", is a NO VOTE. No contractual language to protect the rank-and-file from another pandemic is a NO VOTE.
In 1997, the central slogan of the Teamsters’ UPS strike was “Part-Time America Won’t Work.” Today, as the Teamsters weigh another UPS strike, part-time workers at the company say their pay and working conditions are still unbearable.
