In the "biz" it's called a "throwaway" no one, who knows, takes it seriously. It will evaporate.Comment

The companies proposal is an opening proposal. Its a low ball offer by definition, when they change it the other side can claim victory. Don't be distracted from the unions goals. It would help if we could see our own union proposals. What did the union propose for a part-time starting rate?
At any rate this company proposal is made to lower union expectations. Don't fall for it. In fact it could easily been leaked on purpose.Comment

As someone in the know, Union proposal for part timers is not 25 dollars an hour. Part timers pushing for 25 dollars are in for a shockComment

Ok, UPS909Strong now that you have outed yourself as “ someone in the know” and you are portraying yourself as a committee member or officer on the negotiating committee explain yourself .
you seem to be bargaining down to the members , we have had almost a year of building a force of members who will not be beaten by UPS ……strike , strike , strike !
Now we are getting from you here and on other posts “ don’t expect $25 “ “ in for a shock “ you seem to be preaching a campaign to LOWER EXPECTATIONS !
So , if you are “ in the know” share it ! Or honor your signed NDA and stop disclosing.Comment

This whole leaking of the companies proposal on economics is just part of the show then??? If what we vote on is even remotely like what was posted here its a hard no. People discussing a vote no campaign may not have much time. When pres O'Brien says a deal by Aug 1 does he mean a TA or a voted on contract by then?Comment

Unfortunately I wish I could share. But 25 for part timers is not going to happen. Think of the financial package as a pie. The pie is divided for pension, health and welfare and wages. If you want 25 hourly, it's going to have to come from another piece of the pie. Proposals can't be shared. Trust your committeeComment

Number one, that's some poverty economics thinking for sure. UPS is massively profitable, with every Wall Street index rating them as only growing in profitability. There's a bigger pie to be had from UPS, not smaller pieces for everyone. Secondly, no- I have no reason to trust my committee. I'll trust a signed contract with real gains and the committee can do its job.

Hey! I have an idea ! How about YOU TRUST THE MEMBERS ! Who the hell do you think you are ? Our committee?Comment

When the President of the US negotiates a policy that affects all Americans, he doesn't run it by the American people first. He negotiates the policy. That's why we elect themComment

When the President of the US negotiates a policy, it is "run by the American People first". Any treaty is required to be ratified to have any legal affect, which involves the public debate of it on the floor of congress. All the contents of bills are available to be publicly read from the moment of its introduction. The federal government is 10x more transparent than the Teamsters under Sean O'Brien.Comment
