    No inward facing cameras.

Faust has stated multiple times that inward cameras where a concession; when in fact cameras are officially coming out.

Hello Sasquatch16, it seems you were unable to respond to what was said so you made a new thread. This is not an image of an official update either. The only update to come from the IBT that I'm aware of is the link at the bottom of this post. However, since you were so kind to make a thread essentially identical to your original post, I will make a reply identical to your original post:

    Cameras are staying.

Nobody has disputed that the outward facing cameras will now be an enshrined right in our contract for the company to install. With inward facing cameras, while O'Brien says they are to be "disabled", he also explicitly stated the tentative agreement will allow the use of "sensors" facing the driver for "training purposes". The sensor on the Lytx Drive Cam systems is a camera. That's how it detects your seatbelt not being on, you being distracted while driving, etc. So while it may not record on a regular basis like the outward facing camera, the inward facing camera will obviously continue to be used. Cameras are just "sensors".

This tentative agreement permits the continued harassment of drivers based solely upon technology and presents a venue where an item can be observed on camera (live streamed even), and a supervisor can just lie about having seen it in person. You cannot disprove them, because if you lie you are terminated. The only victory with cameras in a TA is their complete removal from all equipment, otherwise harassment will continue, business as usual.

Since he doesn't work at UPS he doesn't understand that the device inside the truck has the outward and inward facing cameras and the censors that bark out "distracted driving."

That device is staying in. The inward camera is turned on with a keyboard stroke from the center. They aren't suppose to currently turn them on but they do.

The safety manager at my hub approaches the smokers and has told them that he knows they are smoking while driving. He has made it clear he is seeing them smoking and talking on the phone.

That entire device will not be removed.

Sasquatch, is Faust correct? Is the “ device “ staying in? Is it true you don’t work for UPS and have no first hand knowledge of what you are talking about ?

Cameras are getting covered up and that’s a fact. I’ve been at UPS since 08/28/1996 I’ve been a shop steward since 2001. I would bet my next paycheck Faust has never been a shop steward. As stated I’ll criticize this administration when they do things I don’t agree with. I’ll also praise them when they do good. I’ve heard from reliable source in-ward cameras are gone.
Misinformation shouldn’t be spread from elected leaders or rank and file members.

I have been able to observe the new trucks with the cameras and there is none. Could I be wrong? Sure. I spoke to some drivers and they say the cameras only face outward.

If they’re installing the same cameras everywhere there are driver facing cameras installed as I explained and as is explained in Lytx’s own material there is a driver facing camera. Just because UPS can “disable” the recording of the driver doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist and can’t be turned on or isn’t used as a “sensor”.

Red circle is the driver facing camera.

Thank you for sharing the image of the camera. When they were first installed, some drivers would stick a delivery notice on the camera facing in and the sensor would constantly bark out "distracted driving."

The inward camera is turned on from the center, they just can't discipline you for it.

The entire device will remain inside the truck. Those who aren't UPSers assume there's a different device for each camera and sensor(s). It's one device like the image provided above.

Local 710 right now is fighting to remove the entire device. They feel it's a safety issue and distraction for their drivers.

I have never seen that device in any of the new trucks in our buildings. Even the New Jersey driver told me they don't have any cameras that face him.

Cameras aren't installed nation-wide. I believe Lenexa KS still doesn't have them, but we do here and in many other places throughout the country.

This is an image of the device inside a package car. This device has the outward and inward facing cameras. The device also has the sensor(s).

The cameras facing inward and outward have been installed since they were installed. However, the inward facing camera is only turned on with a keyboard stroke. Anyone who believes UPS is gonna uninstall or remove the inward facing cameras is more naive than a pre-school kid.

Let's hope Local 710 wins their fight to get the entire device removed.

The camera that faces outward is at the bottom of the windshield. They don't have a unit that looks like that in any of the trucks I see.
