You need to let everyone know how the negotiations are going! Maybe you should attend a workshop on negotiating at the TDU convention! Let everyone there know what’s going on.

That would piss O’Brien off! Seeing you there just might ruin his weekend! Lol!

You actually should go to the convention and tell your story. I'll bet TDU members support your struggle. I'll bet that Paff and Levine won't they have their collective tongues so far up O'Brien's ass they are willing to support this union busting scab in whatever sick endeavor he undertakes.

I have to agree the Organizers should be at the TDU Convention. The members there would definetly be supportive.

Brothers and Sisters: I sent the below "Letter to the Editor" for publication in the TDU Teamsters Voice and TDU website, but have yet to receive any response - I'm a TDU member in good standing. I'm interested to learn how other Teamsters view this matter. Would the FASTER LABOR CONTRACTS ACT alone be a step

IBT Staff Council, I'm aware of previous attempts but I don't know much about this one. Have the IBT organizers reached majority status?
If so have you made a demand for recognition?

Thanks for answering and posting all the information. I don't know why the opposition is so strong. Lots of unions have staff unions.

Look. What you have described herein pertaining to negotiating sessions is clearly a common union busting tactic. If ya'll think that there is a decent chance for a fair first contract without applying pressure, you are being naive in my opinion. My opinion is based on twenty-two years of organizing and being involved in first contract negotiations. Organizing doesn't end with an election victory. It never ends. Find pressure points/leverage and build. Otherwise...well, you know. Good luck!

They have already begun doing this Bob, this isn’t their first foray into organizing obviously, nor is this the only platform they have utilized. I would actually take some time to get to know them and talk to them.

      What's up Bobby,
Thank you for your advice and I agree with you 100%. It never ends.
We formed our own independent staff union, have filed multiple ULPs, and have called and text SOB's on his personal cell phone till he changed his number. And have started an aggressive social media campaign on multiple platforms. Have done interviews on labor podcasts. We stopped short of breaking main stream media because we love this organization in general and its not are goal to cause it irreparable damage. I personally have 10 years organizing experience between IBT, AFSCME and political organizing. Not to mention the rest of the combined experience of the IBTSC E board. That being said I welcome all advice and constructive criticism.
