I read the whole report. It looks to me like they were charged with talking to Rome about legitimate union matters. Nothing to benefit any of them personally, rather the interaction was of benefit to the union. I'm not liking the idea of the government telling us who we can talk to about legitimate union affairs. If the IIO is going after everyone who had contact, this will be interesting and long.

While there is celebration going on that "Cancer Rome" friends, supporters, work colleagues, etc. are being targeted by IIO and therefore targeted by Oz for political retribution, those Teamsters, regardless of whether one supports Oz, old or new TDU, Hoffa, or whomever, see what is going on. The current administration is trying to rid the Union of anyone with a brain, anyone who may have now, or could have political ideas or intentions in the future, and anyone who speaks out against Oz ideas, actions or positions. They are using the IIO as their political weapon, and allowing them to pick and choose who they attack and ultimately remove. "Cancer Rome" had hundreds of contacts with many many more people, than the few retired people they are going after, and the Vairma slate members. Why are they going after people who are on their way out? They simply are taking a page out of any oppressor throughout history who wants to strike fear in the minds of their vanquished subjects. They use liars, cheats, wantobes, informers, and ambitious people who can't win an election, but can get someone's by removing the guy in charge. No one is safe from an internal investigation, which only seeks the like of those mentioned above, coaches them into statements they want to hear, while refusing to take statements that would disprove their accusations from those they are targeting. There is still no ability of anyone to have a court hearing or review. The current "Final Order" is worse than the concent degree. Hoffa agreed to it, as he, along with Carey, and now O'Brian, are all owned and controlled by the DOJ.
Anyone who believes in Local Union autonomy, who believes in fair and equal elections, who believes in democracy in the IBT, should be extremely concerned. That means "old" TDU, "old" Hoffa supporters, and anyone else who loves the Teamsters better start paying attention to this kangaroo court, political purge. Not really about "Cancer Rome" , it's really about total and complete control of the IBT by the DOJ puppets they have put in place to run and undermine the Teamsters.

I am wondering where TDU is at, with all of this ? This isn't ridding the Union of corruption, this isn't about embezzlement, or getting favors, this is not John Coli and Brian Rainville stuff, it is pure and simple political reprisals, designed to cower any opposition. The exact opposite of what democrazy should be. Where's Paff or the rest of them? Oh, some are on the payroll of the IBT, and now are trying to preserve their places at the expense of due process and fairness. What is a Union that honors liars and Pacific Northwest drunks and druggie? What is a Union that honors "informants" that lie and personally benefit from those lies? What is a Union that allows their officers and officials to be subjected to charges and accusations that are built on misinformation, set ups, and after the fact proclamations? It shouldn't be called the Teamsters!

Absolutely agree! Why is our international being run by John Coli's right hand guy Brian Rainville? Is he the wizard of OZ? You can't convince me that a guy who spent over a decade with a connected and convicted felon isn't dirty. He's a nasty political operator it would seem to explain much of this. As to TDU's sudden loss of a moral compass I have no idea.

Jason Rabinowitz needs to go. That corporate lawyer goon should never have been appointed head of 2010 or JC7. There's pending charges against him for a shady nomination process at his local. Can't wait for him to go away.

As for the current charged parties. The Judge was explicit when they said "no contact" on Union business. But Rome didn't listen. He was advising general presidents on day to day stuff including campaigns. He should've just stayed away for two years or consulted with worker centers that didn't have any ties to Unions.
