Under pressure from the TeamsterLink Special Report of April 12, 2023 the IBT issued a statement indicating they will file a revised report with the US Department of Labor.

The ERROR in itself is not as big an issue as is O’Brien taking credit for an unsubstantiated report. His unabashed boasting and tough guy persona lends itself to taking credit for everything that makes him look bigger and better then his predecessor. We must admit that Hoffa left a pretty low bar to be surpassed.Comment

An error. Let's think about this, the International has a big accounting department and a bunch of auditors, the GP and the GST have to review the number of members, wouldn't they know of any large organizing victories, wouldn't one of them have asked somebody where did all these new members come from?
All it took was three retired Teamsters from Teamsterlink to figure it out pretty quickly. Thanks guys.Comment

Yeah this is too much, anyone with an ounce of experience would have known those totals made no sense. Who's minding the store? Is the communications dept (PR) in charge? "This sounds good lets just run with it" seems to be the attitude. What might be worse is all the cheerleaders who still ignore reality on this issue even though the IBT has admitted the error.Comment

The OZ auditors and investigators only look for and "find" errors when it involves someone they want to defame, destroy or eliminate from the Teamsters. When it makes O'Lyin look competent and good, they completely ignore the obvious. Anyone with any sense knows the membership DID NOT grow by 206,000 in one year (9 months if it were just under the OZ Administration). Especially when reading and hearing about some of these units winning their first contracts after 5 years of negotiations. Some fools will believe anything when they are desperate for someone to lead them.Comment

They'll try to ignore it, pretend it didn't happen. It's the kind of thing TDU used to report on, now they'll ignore it too, just like they ignore the Rail Contract, the Brownout the NDA's and now the myth of 206,000 new members.Comment
