Next UPS Contract

All UPS teamsters don’t be mislead again, it is time to start talking about and planning the next negotiations. UPS will create the script if we let them. As they have done in the past, we need to be clear what we need to achieve now before we start negotiating.
The average UPS teamster only gets 5 times
in his or her career to affect change in their working
conditions . Time to think about that! Wages are very important but are they the most important issue? Pension and health and welfare may actually be more important also grievance language may be up there with both issues. Let’s start with this first post and think about it!
While we have time , let’s think about what we really need going forward and how we can change the direction of negotiations .

Members should start their own discussion groups and talk about what they would like to see change in their working conditions. They should not get sidetracked with ridiculous demands. Nicknamesups mentioned grievance language may, this is a serious discussion to have. Changing the grievance process could make all the difference in a members career. Real enforcement of language with quick penalties for violations would be huge.
Discussion on technical/automation and robotics are needed. We need to have expert advice on just what is coming with new technologies.
Now would be the time to start. Nowwould be the time to build a member to member movement that demands full disclosure and no more non disclosures agreements (NDA’s)
We don’t need more tough talk we need real planning with a real strategy to win.
We also need to start preparing for a real strike if necessary.

Every members should be starting a special savings account! Talk about it ! Let the company hear about it! Bring your lunch 1 or 2 days a week and bank $20 per week. If we don’t strike take you r family away on vacation!!!

Why would he? The big dirty secret is that the international wants a quick easy settlement just as much as the company does. Someone on this site said it before Talk tough! Settle short! And Claim victory!!!
