"Booing and the Convention Atmosphere
The message from Sean O’Brien and the campaign’s whips was that delegates should listen respectfully and not boo or interrupt opposition candidates. This was overwhelmingly respected by the delegates and enforced by the OZ Teamsters United whips.

There was, however, significant booing from a part of the guest section. One TDU leader who has been to multiple Conventions described the booing as 15% volume compared to 2016.

Booing and jeering other Teamsters has no place in our union, but this Convention shows we are heading in the right direction.

Our union is opening up to member participation and building unity in action across differences and that is something to build on."

The man who stood in front of Sandy Pope as she accepted her nomination screaming “ F**k you” repeatedly?
The man who stood besides Aaron Belk and screamed in his ear as he tried to speak “ you suck , you suck “ repeatedly?
The man who stood in front of Matt Taibi and threatened him when he was accepting his nomination? ( and was found to be “ less than honest “ by the election officer about it) ?
When someone shows you just who they are you should believe them.

I was there for two of these! Obrien stood next to Belk ON CAMERA screaming in his ear as he tried to speak!! Now he has the nerve to act like he is above such conduct. His name “ Boston Bully “ is very well earned.

The sad part is many members and delegates participated in the booing. I have never not been willing to hear a fellow member speak his or hers opinion. It seems when the mob mentality takes over we become a mob.
Wasn’t that once TDU’s motto, No more mob rule?
Now they say “ well it wasn’t as bad as it used to be so we guess it’s ok, it was the guests not the delegates “
