Western Region UPS Rep Karla Schumann

I found these two photos on a facebook group of Karla Schumann. As long as you kiss the ring all sins will be forgiven. After posing for a photo-op saying “f*ck O’Brien-Zuckerman” Sean made her a UPS rep. I was told only 65% of her local pays union dues.

My understanding is that over 50% do not pay dues.

I'm not excusing this whatsoever but I do mean to show that there is a reason this is happening. One that would likely still be true even if O'Brien wasn't a pseudo-reformer.

What you have to understand is that at this point, the reform movement's bench is not very deep. 25 long years of struggling against Hoffa really took all the wind out of the sails, there's been an overall drying up of rank and file activity since '97.

This was the whole reason TDU gave into running him with Zuckerman: they felt they didn't have enough not just to put them over the top, but also to smoothly run the actual union alone. They felt it was better to be "in" and at least have a shot at influencing the Old Guard than to be completely shut out again.

Of course this is always an issue of "who's using who", and I would argue that they're the ones being used. But the point is that this would probably be happening even if Sean was who he says he is.

I believe Dudeman44 makes an intelligent post , his assessment is valid in most aspects. However I think something is missing in this accounting of the TDU and Oz hook up . Put them over the top !? Why does no one question the decision not to run a third slate , this was 1991 all over again ! Hoffa forces divided , Hoffa retiring his camp split between two old guard opponents and Zuckerman’s real reform slate having WON the United States and only lost by five thousand votes in the previous election ? To call Oz a reform minded slate is absurd, to really call Zuckerman a reform candidate is equally absurd , the people he ran with previously is what made him appear to be a reformer , he has supported EVERYONE at one time or another . Seems TDU and Paff simply got old and tired and decided try and get “ a seat at the table” but a what cost ?

The only time you will hear Sean and reformer in the same sentence is when the word “ isn’t “ is being used. Zuckerman and O’Brien are Hoffa rejects. In 2011 Hoffa promised Zuckerman the Central Region VP slot, but guess what Hoffa picked someone else over Fred. That’s why Fred got all salty and ran in 2016. And TDU definitely got a seat at the table…. The kids table

Don't forget that in 2011 Zuckerman ran on the Fred Gegare slate.

It's a picture of two great teamsters who both take alot of crap from people who are jealous or jockying for position. Ask the members of their locals about them. Their the members that overwhelmingly reelected them over and over.

You have the right user name, you’re on 1 speed for sure. Rome Aloise is a great leader? The same Rome Aloise that got banned from the Teamsters for life because of corruption. The members of 853 kicked Rome Aloise’s lap dog Denis Harts slate a*s to the curb 3–1

Newsflash Denis Hart just got charged by the IRB.

Hey BIG FOOT what did he get charged with, I'll bet talking to another teamster. I'll bet you believe the Government should be able to tell us who to talk to. Pathetic

                      Did I strike a nerve?

Rome Aloise an International Brotherhood of Teamsters vice president has been permanently banned from the union after he was found to have broken the terms of a previous suspension and violated the union’s constitution.

So glad you posted this Big Feet, now everyone can see how petty this BS is. They literally nailed him for talking to other Teamsters because the Gov wants to tell us who we can talk to. Its about getting rid of anyone with the balls to challenge which leaves you pretty safe.

Wasn't Rome Aloise the chair of the Costco contract before being expelled for being a crooked piece of excrement?

You know that on the final year of the Costco deal Rome cut, members only received $1.75 in pension per hour thanx to the sweetheart deal Rome negotiated?

At Local 70 UPSers currently receive the highest pension contribution in the nation at UPS of $18.10 per hour.

Even that incompetent moron Sean O'Brien who gets the lowest pension contribution for UPSers in the nation in his New England Supplement is at $12.

Please show me Rome's highest pension contribution.

Azzhole, how can a "great" Teamster think $1.75 is a good pension?

If I was a betting man I would assume you are either Ray Torres or Johnny Gallegos. I don't think there are greater morons and Rome kiss asses in the entire IBT.

Look at the package. At the time $7.00 p/hr better than the best UFCW contract in the country. Low $1.75 WCTP but with 10 years past service credit to show them how much better the union pension is than their profit share (worth $8 p/h) and 401k, all of which they kept. No concessions. Look at the facts not the political BS.

The Feds wanted Rome including some in the IBT that wanted him out. Rome did so much for so many of our Sisters and Brothers. But if you run a foul of the rules, they will catch up to you
