Because the IBT wants to take over the GCC and control their Conference. The GCC pushed back and said “No”

On June 30, 2022 Fred Zuckerman sent a letter to GCC/IBT Conference President Kurt Freeman confirming their meeting of June 23 where Zuckerman had informed him that the IBT was terminating the July 1,2004 merger agreement effective December 31, 2022.

It 's more like we're throwing these Teamsters out. The union has provided no information on the reasons for this move. Few even know about it because this administration is determined to keep us in the dark.

Good question. I've noticed that too. If we tossed the GCC out of Teamster ranks then we're 30 to 60k smaller than either of those numbers.
