The 90,000 Member Claim VS Public Record

    Saw this on Facebook...interesting...

O'BRIENS BIG LIE: THE 90,000 MEMBER MYTH
The International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) has filed its latest
LM-2 report with the Department of Labor. These filings show that O'Brien has been misleading members about the union's membership numbers during his administration. Membership is down, not up.

O'Brien also doesn't want to talk about the data by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). https://www.nlrb.gov/.../agency-performance/election-reports.

Just the other day Sean O'Brien and his supporters posted on Facebook claiming the Teamsters organized 90,000 new members in the last three years.

    That sounds impressive.
There's just one problem: It's all an O'Brien Lie
The public record doesn't support it.

According to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) — the federal agency that runs union organizing elections, the Teamsters have organized about 29,000 workers through Representational Elections (RC's) over the last FIVE YEARS.

    Let that sink in.

    29,000 workers in five years.
Not 90,000 in three. Not hundreds of thousands over five years.

And even that number is misleading, because winning an election does NOT create new Teamster members. Workers only become members after a first contract is negotiated. The government doesn't track those numbers. Only Teamster leadership knows them and they aren't telling.

Now let's talk about your dues money being spent. According to IBT financial filings (LM-2 reports), the International Union spends roughly $25 MILLION PER YEAR on organizing. That's $125 million in member dues over the last five years to the IBT Organizing Department. Using the NLRB's numbers, that works out to roughly $4,300 in dues money for every worker organized. Again, that assumes every election win produced a first contract and real members.

Members deserve answers. Members deserve the truth. The Facts. Accountability in our union only happens when members demand it.

So here are the questions leadership doesn't want to answer:
Call them at the IBT headquarters phone number. 202-624-6800.
Call O'Brien at the Teamsters headquarters.
    Call the General Executive Board.
Members Call the IBT Organizing Director, Chris Rosell.
Call the International Trustees, who reviews the budget every year.
    Ask them:
    - How many first contracts were actually negotiated?
    - How many new Teamster members were created?
    - Why are members being sold numbers that don't match the public record?

    Teamster members pay the dues.
    Teamster members deserve the truth.
    Don't let his lies continue.

The Big Lie, it worked for awhile for his buddy Trump. People are on to it now but there's no opposition organization in the teamsters, so get used to it. O'Brien thinks most members will never hear the real numbers so what the hell.

This was a comment that Paff made in response to someone calling out Oz on the claim of 90,000 new members.

”If a union isnt actively organizing, it is probably shrinking (as many unions are) due to union busting, off-shoring, lay-offs and bankruptcies. So we don't expect the IBT to grow by 90,000 members when
90,000 are organized. We expect it to be a good start on a bigger expansion, which can grow the union, especially in core industries. The IBT shrunk by 149,000 members during tenure of GP James Hoffa”

Sorry, when my president says in a video that we have 90,000 new members I should be able to take him at his word! I SHOULD EXPECT that the IBT just grew by 90,000.

His usual references to Hoffa is diversionary much like Trumps constant Biden/Obama blaming.

Does anyone remember when Paff would have been leading the way exposing the 90,000 discrepancy issue?

Paff would defend a child molester if he were an OZhole. BTW WTF does Ken Paff know about organizing? Has he ever ran an NLRB election? Was he a Teamster more than 6 months? Why are we giving this asshole the time of day? Fock off Ken!

If his health is an issue that effects his judgment maybe he should tend to his health issues and stop being an advocate for O’Brien & Oz

I wonder if people who no longer need him will be as loyal to him as he was to people he no longer needed?
