    UPS Stalling, Bad Faith Bargaining

TEAMSTERS LOCAL 431 NOR CAL TEAMSTERS UPS COMMITTEE

    NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE

March 13 - March 17, 2023 The Northern California Teamsters Committee met the week of March 17, 2023, and concluded a weeklong bargaining session

with UPS on the Nor Cal Sort and Supplemental Agreements. The Committee continued working on proposals and counter

proposals, there have not been any new tentative agreements. Many of the problems our members face each day are problems that UPS created and that UPS has failed thus far to adequately address in these negotiations. The Union Committee had lace to face across the table bargaining each day, actual time has been minimal. Many of the problems UPS has failed to correct include but are not limited to Vacation accrual and selection process, payroll errors, Market Rate Adjustment, Route Bidding,

Grievance Procedure, Seniority Lists and Approved Leave. While this committee is committed to improving our agreement, holding UPS accountable to resolve problems they've created is fundamental. UPS continues to put a monetary cost to all of the Union proposals as UPS continues to propose language that

would affect holiday pay, delayed starts and the work week.

Tentative dates have been agreed to for the week of April 10th

    thru the 14th..

The following was posted by Local 804 on FaceBook. Perrone is not following any gag order, he's letting 804 members know whats happening and by extension letting the rest of us know too.

    Vincent Perrone

Today was the Eighth day of Supplemental Bargaining in Local 804.
There is something very telling about this picture.
    There were Zero proposals exchanged.
There was Zero time spent negotiating.
There was Zero face to face dialogue with our 804 committee.
There was Zero done by UPS to bargain a fair supplement.
In fairness, they are finally sending over information requested……the first week of February.
This stall tactic is happening across the country.
For some reason UPS is expecting the Teamsters to bargain against themselves.
    It’s not going to happen.
They are not listening to our members concerns and needs.
As we told them yesterday. You better start getting interested.
    It’s getting late early.
We’ve made efforts to enhance our supplemental contract.
We have not closed the door on their issues.
They continue to show a complete lack of interest and total disrespect for their “essential workers”.
I guess we are far apart.
    August 1st is coming.

We all know UPS will sit back until we show them we mean business! If this is happening all over the country why do we hear this from only one local ? We need reports from everyone to let us know what’s going on . We need to show UPS we are serious.
