Time for Accountability - United Airline Mechanics

The following is from a United Airline Mechanic who asked this to be circulated:

Now that we have the Griswold report, we know that Chris left with a sweetheart deal orchestrated by O’Brien and then O’Brien installed Clacy Griswold—Chris’ retired brother and former business agent with Local 986—as the chief negotiator for United negotiations. We also now know about the cover-up involving thousands of dollars taken from members.

The report raises serious questions. How many of those excessive meals and wine expenses include Clacys’s name? How much of our union dues was spent involving Chris and Clacy?

There was no movement on our contract under Chris, and there has been none under Clacy. Yet now that this report has been released, Clacy has suddenly issued a contract update that says very little.

Is Clacy trying to settle this contract before more information about the Griswold’s comes to light?

We should consider calling for a vote of no confidence and removing Clacy as our lead negotiator. Clacy needs to come clean on how he spent dues dollars when he was a business agent.

BREAKING NEWS: Clacy Griswold has called a meeting for this Friday, March 6, 2026, in Boston for all United Airlines Teamster Locals. We hope this isn’t another waste of time for all of us. Clacy hasn’t been able to do anything with our contact yet.

Maybe the mechanic should have ratified the contract as presented years ago.
