The NLRB under Trump's first term opened the door allowing religious colleges to escape workers' NLRA protection. The onslaught of Trump's (with Sean O'Brien's blessing) new world order continues. It is unfathomable that we have a Teamsters General President that (along with all but one General Executive Board member - John Palmer) has zero criticism of our fascist US President, as we witness the destruction of decades of worker organizing. First gonna say...there are a few GEB members that I had come to respect in spite of being from different camps previously. As expected, they have fallen into the same trap as those before them and now go along to get along out of fear of alienating their "boss" and losing their positions. As a Catholic I find this in complete violation of the teachings of the church. Total hypocracy.

As Kobi posted above, I wonder what O'Brien and Zuckerman might say when being asked about the Trump NLRB decision that led to the Union-busting at St. John's University. In September 2025 they hosted an event at Teamsters headquarters celebrating the legacy of Rerum Novarum - a foundational papal encyclical on labor rights. O'Brien even met with Pope Leo to discuss the intersection of union work and the Church's mission for social justice. But of course, there will be zero criticism of the labor policies of Trump by his favorite Union "leader"
