    More corruption under O'brien!

Found on the Fearless slate facebook page. Can't believe O'brien only gave Griswold a slap on the wrist. Millions of dollars of hard earned members dues used to support this fat cats luxurious lifestyle along with his family and cronies and O'Brien lets him retire and he only has to repay 50k? What a joke! I guess it pays to kiss his ass.

"Below is a report issued by the Independent Investigations Officer about corruption within the Teamsters Union.

The report finds that an O’Brien loyalist and Vice President at Large, and Airline Division Director Chris Griswold resigned in disgrace. The investigation found that he violated his oath of office and misappropriated union funds from members to a significant degree.

The report further states that O’Brien was made aware of the gross negligence and theft. Rather than taking action to recover the dues money for members, O’Brien entered into a sweetheart agreement allowing Griswold to pay $50,000, resign, and keep the findings hidden from the membership.

From the report: “In contrast, here the IBT’s action to permit GRISWOLD and HARREN to resign their positions without disciplinary sanction or monetary fine has allowed them to keep a substantial portion of the ill-gotten benefit they bestowed upon themselves, and it has hidden from the membership the circumstances under which they were forced out of office. Such is an unacceptable resolution of this egregious misconduct and is inadequate under the reforms dictated by the Final Order.”

The report continues: “The resolutions the IBT struck with GRISWOLD and HARREN imposed no discipline on them, did not make the local union whole for the funds they were responsible for diverting to their personal benefit or the dues they evaded, and, importantly, did not expose their wrongdoing to the union’s members. Instead, the dues payers who were responsible for generating the income that GRISWOLD and HARREN redirected to themselves through self-dealing were told only that the two had retired.512 Such an outcome does not adequately address the goals of the Final Order in rooting out and punishing corruption and deterring its recurrence.”

The report also finds that multiple officers were elected while ineligible to hold office, and that the replacements for Griswald and others were improperly installed. These findings call into question the validity of all board votes and render any contracts signed by Griswold suspect and potentially void.

From the report: The further consequence was that GRISWOLD was ineligible for election as local union secretary-treasurer in each election the local union conducted after the maximum UAL mechanics dues rose above $83 per month, including the 2013-2015, the 2016-2018, the 2019-2021, the 2022-2024, and the 2025-2028 terms, because he set his dues rate below what was required and did not therefore pay full constitutional dues in each of the 24 consecutive months that preceded his nomination for office in those elections, as required in order to be eligible for office.

The report states that this corruption was concealed from members by the O’Brien administration, which it describes as complicit in the misconduct. A full hearing should be conducted by the IBT General Executive Board to determine what actions must be re-voted by a properly constituted board and whether all contracts and grievances signed by Griswold remain valid."

A full review should most definitely NOT be done by the IBT GEB, as they are just puppets for SOB. There should be a review done by an independent entity. There should also be a review of the GEB and all their decisions and votes that Griswald participated in, as he wasn't a legitimate voting member of the board
