Having just received my copy of the Teamster quarterly magazine mailed to members, it is all about the "historic contract" and how two and one half years after it was ratified, O'Brien and his minions are still trying to enforce the terms that they say UPS agreed to. As if that's not bad enough, our GP and his silent entourage GEB (excepting VP At Large John Palmer) must be happy as pigs in shit. They sure as hell aren't publicly complaining about the demise of organized labor being wreaked by Trump, Lori Chavez Deremer, and the rest of the Trump/MAGA crew.

"Faith, family, and freedom"? Ms. Chavez Deremer? What a crock of BS. We're living under a White House and Congress that cares about nothing except more and more profit for their handlers.
They are destroying everything that stands in their way; degrading the environment, destroying public health, imprisoning and murdering people without any due process, All for the millions and billions neither they or their next umpteen heirs will ever be able to spend.

O'Brien while running for IBT GP traveled with Bernie Sanders on an anti-oligarchy tour. This is the biggest sellout in Teamsters history.

If you witnessed it, which “jobs” did they take? Funny nothing in your post blames corporations but scapegoats undocumented workers.

Can someone give me an example of one thing this administration has done to benefit the Teamsters or labor in general. Just one.

Has this administration helped the IBT Amazon division organize Amazon, no.
Has this GOP congress passed legislation or Trump signed an executive order that has benefited the Teamsters, nothing comes to mind.

This administration has just used the Teamsters to say “the Teamsters and ordinary working class citizens agree with us”. We have nothing to show for it.

The Teamsters are on a one-way street that only goes to the administration. Nothing comes our way.

      What job was that?

The kitchen job at a restaurant, roofing, construction, gardening your apartment complex, cleaning toilets?

Tell me what jobs they took from all the lazy drug addicts begging outside liquor stores, traffic intersections or freeway exits asshole?!

Hi, rbj, thanks for the comment “Please explain why the Biden administration allowed illegals to come into and take our jobs. And before you say it never happened, i witnessed it”

I would be more than happy to enter in to a discussion with you.

As we both know immigration is a complex issue. There are many claims from both the left and right about numbers, reasons, blame and this policy is better than that policy.

While I definingly have my opinions, I base my beliefs in facts such as it is against federal law for employers to knowingly hire, recruit, or refer for a fee any individual who is not authorized to work in the United States. These laws were established by the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) of 1986.

How many CEO’s or business owners have you seen knocked to the ground, yanked out of cars, handcuffed, kicked or beaten, disappeared to who knows where?

        A little history on current attempts to reform immigration policies;
In October of 2023, Senate Republicans made it clear that they would not back additional aid for Ukraine without a bill that would help secure the southern border of the United States. With the blessing of both Senator Chuck Schumer, the Majority Leader, and Senator Mitch McConnell, the Minority Leader, a bipartisan team of senators began negotiations to produce a bill that enough members of both parties could accept to overwhelm objections from progressive Democrats and America First Republicans.

in December 2023, the U.S. Congress did not pass the major comprehensive immigration reform, but significant legislative activity occurred, including the House passing the Secure the Border Act of 2023 (H.R.2), a partisan bill focused on border enforcement, and the introduction of the bipartisan Dignity Act of 2023, which aimed for broader reform but didn't pass.

The team negotiated for months to produce this bill. It took less than four days for its support among Republicans to collapse. Why?

The quickest explanation is that Republicans in both the House and Senate yielded to objections from their all-but-certain presidential nominee, former president Donald Trump.

Donald Trump prominently used the failure of the bipartisan immigration bill in his 2024 campaign, actively working to ensure its defeat so that he could use the issue as a primary campaign platform, blaming “Sleepy Joe” for the immigration problem.

Trump's Role in the Bill's Failure
        • Active Opposition: Trump vocally denounced the bill and urged his Republican allies in Congress to oppose it, calling it a "gift" to Democrats and demanding they "kill the bill".
        • Political Strategy: Reports and statements from lawmakers indicated that Trump's primary motivation was to prevent President Biden from securing a legislative victory on immigration during an election year, preferring to campaign on the issue of an unsecured border.
        • Taking Credit for Failure: Trump publicly praised the bill's demise and even explicitly said, "Blame it on me" if the bill failed, highlighting his influence over the Republican caucus.
To sum up this part of our discussion, in my opinion, Trumps position on immigration has less to with humane reform by actually solving the issue as it is centered on his only motivation-power, built on lies and fear, and his core belief that all black, brown other races are “criminals, rapists, from S***hole countries, animals, THUGS, Pocahontas, some of the roughest people, lashes out at four women of color in Congress, looks like a W.A.S.P., America-hating socialist, vicious dogs, retweets video that includes Trump supporter yelling White Power and there were good people on both sides.”

Looking forward to your next post continuing our discussion!

Nobody "took our jobs". Workers earn pay, spend it on goods and services by workers in other jobs.

Does this country have the right to secure its borders, yes. The administration, GOP & some dems have no will to pass comprehensive immigration reform bill. None.

this also touches on the current baseball card or that the OZ slate are doing. Officers on the OZ slate are having their photo posted on these pseudo baseball card and on the bottom center we see “American By Birth. Teamster By Choice”. What’s the implication here? It’s if you’re not “American By Birth” then you aren’t a real Teamster. It’s uber nativism. If some don’t know what nativism means.

Nativism is the political policy of promoting or protecting the interests of native-born over those of immigrants, including the support of anti-immigration and immigration-restriction measures.

“American By Birth. Teamster By Choice”, another way to read it: your born an american whether you like it or not but you make a choice to become a teamster.
