    Vairma Announces Retirement

Vairma had the Hoffa endorsement and his election defeat signaled the final Hoffa chapter. I guess no one should be surprised he's leaving but he did have good support particularly with officers The delegates at convention were about evenly split and again mostly paid officers and staff. Vairma represented a continuation of the Hoffa administration but without the name and that didn't work very well with a membership vote.
But don't kid yourself folks most of those delegates don't feel much different. The purge at the IBT didn't make anyone more comfortable. Folks are careful about what they say and to who they say it.

It’s a shame Steve was cast as a Hoffa Jr puppet. He truly wasn’t. He was a smart, talented and very hard working man. He would have made a great GP…but it wasn’t meant to be.

Well he like O'Brien both ran on the Hoffa-Hall slates multiple times.

He was a very likeable guy, but being the #3 choice after Terry Han**** and Kevin Moore goes to show you he was not only a Hoffa guy, but also tight with Rome Aloise.

Vairma should have put a stop to running with Ron Herrera as his Forum Home Herrera was a complete buffoon.
