    Herrera Saga Not Over

The LA City Council Ron Herrera scandal isn't going away any time soon. People want to know who would be the beneficiary of planting that bug and who had the opportunity. Could be interesting.

My understanding is that Michele McPhee is doing an investigative story on it.

This is exactly why, if you ever have damning information about important people, you don't leak it yourself. You contact the press. Whoever got this information out to the public didn't do that - they leaked it to Reddit themselves, and now they have no legal whistleblower protection. Journalists, lawyers, and depending on California's laws on planting bugs and recording consent, possibly law enforcement, are going to dig and dig until the source is identified. Whoever leaked this appears to be a dumbass.

The investigative journalist apparently has good stuff.

It’s easy to see who was behind all this. Mickey Mouse’s was always at the LA fed with whom? And who just took over his positions at Local 396 and LA Fed? When this is all over Local 396 will be in shambles. The guys or people that conspired to do this won’t seen any jail time, probably will be looked upon as hero’s.

They say it's pay back for Ron Herrera referring to O'Brien as his "little brother from Boston."

Key words from Debo. This won't end with just the obvious suspects in the spotlight.

The LAPD may finally be close to arresting a suspect behind the recording and leaking of the City Council meetings last October that sparked one of the biggest scandals in recent Los Angeles political history. Multiple sources tell Los Angeles that a bookkeeper for the Los Angeles County Federation was the one who secretly recorded the racist …

Former International Vice President and former candidate for General Secretary General Ron Herrera at the center of the biggest scandal to hit Los Angeles Gov in many years.

Did I get this right? His now former Executive Assistant, Karla Vasquez's husband, Santos Leon, could be the person who recorded and leaked the racist comments that caused leadership change both in the Teamsters and LA City Government.

Why would he do such a thing?

I heard this was a concerted effort between the executive board of 396, the LA Fed and an issue that came up where ron was paying for hotels and dinners in town for two with two separate mistresses. The eboard sprung it on him. They said resign or we will tell your wife. He resigned and then the other bomb dropped at the Fed. They took him out. I wouldn’t be surprised if the current IBT administration helped take him out.

Holy crap. Herrera had two mistresses? How did he fit it in with all his full time union positions? Now that sex is involved this is almost as good as the stories about the IBT Organizing department.

So an underhanded and probably illegal scheme to get Ron Herrera took down the leadership of one of the most important cities in the world as collateral damage. Quite an achievement, can't wait to hear more.
