    Thought I’d seen it all!

I started as a teamster in 1978, I saw TDU fight for members right to vote, I saw them support Carey, Leedham , Pope and Zukerman after he pretended to be a reformer with Sylvester. Saw them oppose multiple salaries, multiple pensions, sweetheart contracts and keeping members in the dark. They consistently exposed wrong doings by Hoffa. Now they remain mute on all things they used to decry, they support people who have threatened members, people who have threatened TDU very existence. Now Paff and Levine have both attacked Palmer over his reporting of the hiring of a white nationalist and his questioning the hiring procedures.

So my question is WHAT DOES TDU STAND FOR NOW?

    jerseymike78 :

How do you know whether Paff and Levin "have both attacked Palmer over his reporting of a white nationalist" that was allegedly hired by the IBT?

I agree with condemning (in the strongest way possible) that hiring by the IBT and the alleged firing of the IBT staff member that reported the hiring of the white nationalist.
But I'm curious if Paff and Levin have attacked Palmer for his information request to get to the bottom of what happened.

    Please explain. Thanks Brother.

Not sure what Jersey saw,but I saw levin post this in a comment.

“Get real. There are serious issues in the union and the world. This isn’t one of them. He applied to work as a secretary in the organizing department after he worked for over a year as an organizer with SEIU. When the union learned of his past associations, he was let go in about a month. Politics is politics I guess. But you have to drawn the line somewhere and playing politics with racism is beneath even John Palmer”.

What does “ beneath even John Palmer “ mean?

Palmer who has stood up against O’Brien? My question is what is beneath” TDU?

Levin has the key role at TDU. TDU is in a "coalition" with O'Brien. O'Brien spends a lot of time currying favor with Trump and other anti-Union MAGA politicians and influencers. O'Brien's appetite for thugs and authoritarians results in the IBT weakening the labor movement's resistance to MAGA's anti-worker agenda - O'Brien and the IBT just don't inform and organize the members against these forces. If Levin won't give up his pass at the Marble Palace, he should at a minimum lay off Palmer. Palmer is speaking for anti-Trump, pro-worker, pro-Union Teamsters.

Levin does something here that is notable. Levin claims here that Palmer is undermining anti-racism by posting about the IBT hiring a notorious white nationalist. Levin's claim is bunk. Is Levin trying to show O'Brien that he is devoted to satiating each and every O'Brien whim? Is Levin able to balance TDU's role as an independent, rank and file voice with his role managing TDU's "coalition" with O'Brien?

Here's what I find offensive about Levin's claim that Palmer is undermining anti-racism: O'Brien is out in the world promoting Trump and other MAGA politicians and influencers. Under orders from Trump, Stephen Miller and Tom Homan, masked government agents are abducting law-abiding workers without warrants. That's racist. What is TDU doing to unite the labor movement against that?

He was always a fraud. He was only angry because he was bypassed when Hoffa chose a VP to run with. Never, ever a reformer.
