    $150,000 club

I was told TDU is not coming out with their yearly 150k list

Now that TDU has a seat the table they are silent on multiple salaries and pensions.

      Format is a little confusing.

Anyway, I also heard TDU no longer publishes their $150k a year club. I also heard their Bill of Rights is gone...if true very sad.
Maybe if they did, an issue would be the size of a book. And contain too many familiar names. What's the old expression about sunlight is the best disinfectant??

I'm hoping this new site can be what TDU used to be...and better. I also hope it doesn't turn into another Brown Cafe where members anonymously attack each other. Open discussion and dialogue is required.

      In Solidarity

What's the backstory on the Rank Rank and File Bill of Rights being removed from the TDU constitution?

I remember being told it had to do with not being able to fill positions because competitive salaries couldn't be offered. Members having to take pay cuts in order to take leadership positions.

But the Bill of Rights says salary cap for officers should be no more than the highest paid member in the jurisdiction.

So I wonder if by competition they meant losing competent people to UPS management. Or if it was simply that some of the people OZ wanted to bring on board were already in the $150K club, so they just got rid of it.

Soulless, well maybe but hardly dead. Hiring new staff, 450 in attendance at the most recent convention. Doesn't feel like death throws to me.

TDU isn’t even .1% of teamsters population

450 out of 1,000,000 isn’t something to brag about. TDU is nothing more than a bunch of hypocrites and sell outs.

Name some of the reform policies that have been implemented in the last year. I’ll wait

The majority were from Chicago and nearby Indiana. The majority from nationwide did not attend and the few who did noticed the lack of enthusiasm.

O'Brien promised TDU a lot of jobs and they never materialized. O'Brien instead hired a bunch of idiots including pot heads.

Perhaps. But if so, I don't buy that it's just due to greed or whatever.

The Hoffa years were particularly devastating for our union. I'd say the last two decades were marked by a significant decline in rank-and-file activity.

It's pretty difficult to stay relevant as an organization in that environment. TDU seems to have coped by shifting its energy toward establishing power within the executive boards of various IBT locals.

This reshaped their perspective away from the RAF toward another theory of change, focused on control over positions of power in the union officialdom. Not defending this, but it is a pretty natural development to occur.

The problem is that people show up to TDU conventions now, and take for granted that that's what RAF activity looks like because they haven't seen it before. TDU still uses that language, so the members believe that's what's actually happening, when in reality it's something quite different.

I had people tell me the last convention felt more like IBT training workshops than anything specifically to do with TDU.

Until David Levin is removed from TDU, and who ever takes over pulls their support for O'Brien, they are dead!!!

Per 2021 LM-2 my ST made $170K, guessing $150K is long gone in his rear view mirror for 2022

They are silent because they run the IBT now. They all want a piece of action (always did). Anyone actually paying attention should be looking at how the GP is fulfilling his promise to destroy TDU from the inside. This may end up his only accomplishment.
