Ken Paff finally falls asleep after tossing and turning for hours consumed with dread concerning the upcoming TDU convention. His mind races to and fro with fear of the possible protests due to the silence maintained by his organization in the face of the utter failures of the O’Brien administration. His tossing and turning is abruptly halted as he opens his eyes at the sounds of chanting “CAREY CAREY CAREY“ he sits up and is astonished at the sight of Ron Carey sitting in the chair by his bed, “your dead” Paff says as the ghost of Carey shakes his head and replies “yes but I had to come to see if you remembered what you had once stood for before you got your seat at the table“ Paff pulled the blanket over his head to hide his shame. When he mustered the courage to attempt to explain his actions and lowered the blanket the ghost of Ron Carey was gone.

After finally falling asleep once more Paff was awoken by a Podcast coming over his computer, there on the screen was O’Brien speaking directly to him in his heavy Boston accent “Better bad ideas! Isn’t that what you had, Kenny boy, when you fell for my bullshit? You sold your members on me for a promised seat at the table! How’s that working out for you? I asked Trump to invite you next time I go to Mar-a-Lago but he said there is no seat at the table for you because we don’t need you anymore”. Once again Paff pulled the covers over his head and hid in shame.

The sun coming through his window caused Paff to open his eyes once more, morning, thank goodness he thought as he stood up to dress for the convention.

As he left his home he was arrested by people wearing masks and dragged away to be deported to El Salvador. Seems that by order of O’Briens buddy, Trump, labor unions had been outlawed the previous day and all organizations linked to unions were declared “enemies of the people” by order of President Trump and his new secretary of labor Sean O’Brien.

Unfortunately for Paff this was not a dream but a stark reality for what he had unwittingly helped make possible.

All the activists from the past must be really embarrassed by the endorsement of exactly what they stood against in the past. Cammaratta, Gilmartin, Kilmury, LaBotz, Kindred, Furst,Pope and many others who would not recognize the new TDU. How many of those named were actually threatened and harassed at conventions by O’Brien himself? Shame on you Ken, hope you actually dream like this!
