Tomorrow workers at Amazon RDU1 will have an union election to see if they will organize with the independent union Carolina Amazonians United for Solidarity and Empowerment, or CAUSE.

There will be no livestream because Amazon is above the law.

Amazon HR Manager Kalp Joshi and KCVG Loss Prevention Herbert K. Schultze enforced the illegal off-duty access rule to kick workers out of the lobby who intended to share vote count online. CAUSE still has 9 workers serving as observers to the counting process, but they cannot report the results. 3 workers who tried to report the results were told they had “no reason to be there”. The labor board had no issue with CAUSE live-streaming the tally, but Amazon did.

Amazon’s off-duty access rule was declared illegal in NLRB ruling. By law, Amazon must comply with the ruling.

Amazon is flagrantly violating labor law right in front of the labor board with no consequence. The arrogance of this corporate empire is astounding. Amazon will come to learn that without us workers, nothing moves. The struggle continues. All Amazon workers must organize strong fighting unions to enforce our rights

Amazon is above the law and Trump will support them. They could file more nlrb charges but because of Trumps illegal firings they'll never be heard.

RDU1 was going to organize with an independent union, CAUSE.

The Amazon RDU1 union election fell short. Amazon used that old but effective ruling class tactic of divide and conquer. They laid and relied on heavily, the Brown and Black divide. Also, they threatened brown comrades with deportation if they voted yes.

It is a setback but RDU1/CAUSE comrades and us can learn. I still believe in “Organizing the South” but we must learn and address key issues so we can move beyond the failures.
