    The Power of Listening: Leadership Versus Messaging by Sean O’Brien

    A new article by SOB for commonplace.org
    The American people want leaders, in politics and beyond, who hear them, not tell them what they should think.

    What planet is SOB living on? Below is how he ends the above article after non stop bashing of democrats. O'Brien praises anti-union republicans, that in the real world have consistently opposed the things he lists as the "wants " of the American people. In the meantime, democrats have moved the ball forward on each of SOB's bulleted items, even when in the minority and always in the face of the same republican oppostion he's now embracing. Here's what Mr. Non-endorsement says "leaders" should do:

    "Leaders lead with projects and working people have made clear that they want some basic things, like:
    • True bankruptcy reform;
    • Banning dark money PACs;
    • Reforming labor law;
    • Reindustrializing America;
    • Building roads, bridges, train lines, and pipelines for the common good.

    Leadership is not about having the right message. It’s about the right action. Take the action and the message will follow. It’s time to dispense with big ideas. It’s time to get to work."

    Its obvious that this constant political commentary, using the union as a platform, is more about promoting Sean O'Brien than it is about the membership of the union.
