The shame Sean O'Brien brought on the Teamsters will take a long time to live down

The shame Sean O'Brien has brought on the Teamsters will take a long time to live down. If our allies who saved our pensions and rescued our retirees can't trust us, who will? No one will trust the Teamsters until @teamstersob is gone. Sad. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/harri...b085d2029715bc

Correct.Mr.Teamster. The GEB and Manu Joint Councils disregarded the members. A Democratic process. Huh ? The Union Busters are going to have a field day with that one.

To be honest, this time next year, nobody cares because everyone will be against Comalla Harris. Everyone is pretty much against the president. They will all forget.

Elected leaders, such as the Teamsters International Executive Board are elected to lead! They are elected to uphold our IBT Constitution and fight for the interests of the rank and file members and for that matter, to fight for the interests of workers everywhere! They're not elected to conduct a straw poll to make decisions. The non-endorsement ignores the facts of which candidate and Party will protect workers' interests; it benefits Trump. It's not ignoring democracy. If the majority of rank and file members decide to vote against any GEB member because he or she voted to endorse Kamala Harris, that goes with the territory of being an elected leader. Hopefully they have retained seniority under the CBA they worked under before they got elected.

Anyone who has dealt with politicians and campaign contributions understands that once the next elections comes, all these same democrats will be coming to the Teamsters once again, asking for contributions. You think the SEIU and these other labor unions are chipping off as much as the Teamsters and our pac funds? Schumer AOC and all these socialists will come asking for Teamsters socialism I mean, PAC fund and D. R. I. V. E money. If you don’t realize this or know that this is what’s gonna happen then you have never worked in a local union or have done anything with politics. Basically you’re one of the same 16 guys on this website that can’t win a local election and are just pissed off. Besides the two gentleman that started this site. They know how it all works.

Chuck Schumer and AOC are not socialists. AOC is a future leader of the Democratic party, a proudly capitalist party, and Chuck Schumer is a top recipient of Wall Street money (sample headline, from Politico: "Wall Street Money Rains on Schumer"). Like Republicans, they are not on the side of workers and they are pro-war, which is why people like Dick Cheney are endorsing them. Sean O'Brien's "independence" from Democrats is not just the usual meaningless PR, it's a strategy to get public attention for his own benefit, which is why people are calling it out.

There will be consequences for the union regardless of which candidate wins.

If trump wins and proceeds with his anti-union, anti-worker agenda, the union and our members will suffer.

If the national right to work gets to trump's desk, he will sign it, immediately cutting union membership by 50%.

Even if the RTW issue does not reach his desk, his anti-union, anti-worker appointments at the NLRB, OSHA, EEOC, DOT, etc... will create a hostile environment for all workers.

On top of that, the tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires will require normal working people to pay higher and higher taxes.

And, if the Kamala Harris-Tim Walz ticket is elected, although they are more union friendly, the snub by Obrien will have repercussion. It would not surprise me if Teamster corruption doesn't get new attention from the DOJ and a Consent order and new government oversight.
