    Why avoid this deposition?

What is to gain by avoiding this deposition? 22,000 Teamsters lost their jobs. It's time for the General President to step-up and be a leader.

Why is General President Sean Obrien trying to avoid a deposition?

His testimony can prove that Yellow failed to give Yellow workers and their union 60 days notice as required under law.

The only reason we can think of that Obrien would want to avoid answering these questions would be: that Yellow did provide the Union proper notice and the union failed to pass that information along to union members.

Teamsters union leader Sean O’Brien will have to appear at an in-person deposition that could determine the fate of up to $244 million in WARN Act claims against Yellow’s estate. The post Yellow to depose Teamsters head in effort to quash alleged WARN Act violations appeared first on FreightWaves.

I would not doubt it a minute if it was true.

The corporate vultures deliberately closed the company to make money off if it's demise. Concessions would have done nothing to stop this theft, and would have only undermined efforts to bargain other contracts.

I believe that some kind of severance package could have been addressed prior to the company closing. That may have benefited the 22,000 workers losing their jobs.

There is no way Yellow was kicking is a severance package. They couldn’t even make health and welfare payments.
