    Is this the same John Palmer who failed miserably as deputy director for internal organizing? Is this the same John Palmer who covered up harassment and sexual misconduct while he was the head of that department? Is this the same John Palmer who’s only job right now is going to geb meetings? Is this the same John Palmer who has never ran a local? Never negotiated a contract? I’m good.

      Sexual misconduct? Put up or shut up. This is slander

      Facts: He failed as deputy organizing director. He failed as an organizer, choosing to not want to do the job. He didn't attend one minute of UPS negotiations, nor involved himself in the campaign at all, nor spoke up at GEB about it, yet criticized the campaign and outcome publicly. He didn't spend a single minute on the Molson Coors picket line in his home state of Texas.

    James R. Hoffa said the Teamsters will be destroyed within. It is coming to light.

      I can't say I wasn't frustrated to see all these people move to the very person who didn't care about us for all those years. John would have been the last person I suspect to do so, but he is now the first to break and admit he was wrong for even bending. This was a movement formed in 2013 and the people that were supposedly in it gave it away to the very people we were exposing. John at least has the balls to say the things that some people aren't willing to. John was with us in 13 and beyond. O'Brien wasn't. And, Fred was a fraud since day 1.

        Having experienced two and a half years of General President Sean O'Brien’s tumultuous presidency, I am announcing my candidacy for Teamsters national office in the 2026 election for officers. I invite all Teamsters to join with me in forming an opposition slate to send Sean O'Brien back to the truck. Let’s put an end to the false promises, business friendly unionism, and concessionary back-room deals.

        This administration rode into power on a wave of excitement generated by our members' desires and frustrations. We were promised a more engaged leadership and a more militant union. What we have received so far is a PR blast furnace of misinformation and betrayal. The coalition created between TDU reformers and old guard officials has in effect bought off opposition by handing out a few cushy jobs to some TDU members at the marble palace. This coalition has successfully silenced all criticism from these so-called reformers. Fear of retaliation rules the day at local unions across the country. Leaders fear trusteeships if they fall out of line. O’Brien’s attacks on dissenters are well known. He has threatened and continues to threaten members of his own GEB.

        In addition:
        • He publicly embarrassed himself and the Teamsters in challenging a US Senator to a fight. His childish behavior is beneath the dignity of the office;
        • He negotiated reduced hourly contributions of West Coast UPS Teamsters’ pensions while members in the fund he manages received increases all from the same employer and contract;
        • He has allowed AI, AGI, and automation to run wild through many of our workplaces. His grand speeches and fist pounding do nothing to aid the 10,000 laid-off Teamsters at UPS;
        • He walked out and abandoned Yellow Freight Teamsters;
        • He attempted to kick the Graphic Communications Teamsters out of our union;
        • He failed to support and engage our rail Teamsters during their latest contract;
        • He attacked the Machinists Union and encouraged Teamster locals to raid Machinists’ shops.
        This has all culminated in his presence at the anti-union, anti-worker Republican national convention, kissing the ring of a man that scabbed a picket line, failing to pay workers, discriminating against people of color as a landlord, falsely accusing five black men in New York of murder, orchestrating an insurrection against the United States, dodging the draft, and appointing Union busters from the Jones Day law firm to create the most anti-union Labor Board in history. It’s naive to believe that these folks at the RNC are going to help us in any way, shape, form, or manner. We have successfully estranged ourselves from the rest of the labor movement through the actions of one man. Should we really go out and seek more enemies right now?

        It has been said you judge a tree by the fruit it bears; we should not take one more bite of this sour apple. Let’s put an end to the failed and phony policy of bluster and PR. We are better than this. Our members deserve better than this. Please help us in building a truly unified and reformative union where all the members’ interests are served.

        In Solidarity,

        John Palmer

        Vice-President at Large*

        I'm glad Palmers running and this is accurate statement of where we are today. Now lets see if he can build a slate.

          With the Teamsters Black Caucus coming and their opposition to O'Brien kissing Trump's ass I wonder if they will make an endorsement and announce more officers joining Palmer.

              I can see it now. Palmer and Hooker with that Chris Silva. Add the two knuckleheads from the Roswell show. Throw James Curbeam and some other useless people. Go for it.

                They’ll be taking second and third mortgages out on their homes and it still won’t be enough to even attempt to put a slate together. Loserville

              Those two clowns from the Roswell Show are TDU members. They didn't like the shit sandwich O'Brien served with the UPS contract. But they still support him eventhough O'Brien kicked them to the curve.

                If Palmer knew what was good for him, he wouldn't pick my Local Principal Officer. The membership here is VERY pissed off with a closed door deal he did with a grievance amongst a lot of other things. I think the clown show youtube channel and sidekick will be with O'Brien anyway. John's got my support.

                  There's a lot of people unhappy with O'Brien but they know to keep they're head down. Mr Teamster probably knows a few.
