    Social Media and the Teamsters

Our Business Agent is constantly on social media. If he visits a barn, he will then post to the million other Teamsters pages like (Teamsters International, Teamsters JC42 ) etc. But what pisses us off is that he doesn't visit barns where members will question him. He just visits a barn where they kiss his ass. Seems like some of our reps just want to be influencers. God forbid you post a negative comment because it will be deleted or you get blocked. Shouldn't our comms department handle social media and not our business agents?

Every Local has their own policy and generally don't have any policy at all. These things are all mini puff pieces to get them reelected. Getting reelected means money and perks.

They can post all they want if they are handling Union business. But it's not cool when they ghost members, then post on social media "Look at us, we are visiting all our barns" and it's all BS

Yep, same thing here in Detroit. A bunch of flamboyant Facebook photographers. It appears to be all smoke and mirrors. When really the members are disgusted with the leadership and lack of representation. It's all for show and psychology. Makes me sick. No real leadership.

It's all connected back to the IBT. The people in Detroit control the local sites, Joint Council and are administrators for other sites like the Teamsters page. This is setup on purpose by the IBT and is all a public relations stunt.
