Workers are finding that they confront not just attacks from management, but from a corrupt union apparatus which functions as a labor police force. This is not due to bad policies or bad apples at the top. Rather, the union bureaucracy has entirely different, and hostile, social interests than the rank-and-file membership.

This is evident in the latest federal financial reports filed by the Teamsters. A list of the top paid officials in the Teamsters recently published by T-Union Link message board shows that 160 officers in the Teamsters International make over $200,000 a year in total compensation.

Among them is O’Brien, with total compensation of $419,222 a year, who is only second in pay to Randy Korgan, the head of the alleged Teamsters unionization drive among Amazon workers.

Notable among the “$200k Club” are a number of leading members of Teamsters for a Democratic Union who have secured for themselves high positions within the Teamsters bureaucracy for their support for Sean O’Brien. TDU members Matt Taibbi and Willie Ford make $252,065 and $247,924 a year in total compensation respectively. Notable leaders with connections to TDU include Fred Zuckerman ($377,537) who has been endorsed by the Teamsters United coalition that TDU is a part of, and other high-ranking career officials such as Vinnie Perrone ($249,754) out of Local 804 in New York City and Juan Campos ($284,154) from Chicago.

Significantly, TDU itself used to publish this list of high earners in the Teamsters bureaucracy each year. It has quietly abandoned the list after securing membership to the $200k Club.

This is the inevitable result of TDU’s program. Rather than mobilizing rank-and-file workers in a fight to smash the bureaucracy and replace it with new, democratic structures, TDU has claimed since its foundation decades ago that it was possible to revive union “democracy” through a change in the composition of the bureaucracy itself. This has led them into a series of unprincipled alliances with other factions of the bureaucracy who use TDU to advance their own careers, while creating new layers of bureaucrats out of TDU itself.

I have watched on here as you talk like you have all this experience in the Teamsters but you have less than three years. And with a quick google search I found that you advocate for pedophiles to have sex dolls that look like children. That’s really creepy. Forgive me if I don’t take what you’re saying is gospel.

Mixmax, I don't ordinarily entertain this drivel, since I have written a rather extensive book on carceral systems, the development of certain epistemological frameworks in the 19th Century, especially Benthamite panoptic punishment, and the nexus between class, race and other factors in contemporary law and order. You seem to be concerned more about dolls than actual children or even UPS Teamsters for that matter. Yes, it is very well known that I have worked with child sex offenders (read my book, or really any book) and, in one case, I actually prevented a child from being abused further. I didn't get that done by saying that pedophiles or child sex offenders all need to be killed (note that about 50% of pedophiles never offend, they have "creepy" thoughts but don't act on them. The main contributing factor to offending is social isolation.) It took building relationships with men in carceral conditions to understand why they offended in the first place, and then, with the research of Michael Seto and James Cantor, along with the child protection organization, The Prostasia Foundation, creating plans to help prevent future offending.

I am into practical solutions that actually protect children. And what are you doing to protect children? Ah, yes, producing slander here to divert from Sean O'Brien's malfeasance; perhaps the only child you truly care about. Cue DanaCos and the Baby Boss.

The facts are that people are losing jobs, our union once again is lying about the present contract we were handed and never want to talk about their past and in some cases lie about it. We continue to have a problem with the union we pay to keep our interests and they are failing to do so and it is the same players from years past doing it time and time again. I could walk away from it all licking my wounds knowing it no longer affects me but the future is deeply in trouble if you don't call out this treachery.

Yes, it is true. I can't speak for other locals but have spoken to various people about how their political games unfolded in their workplaces. From my personal experience, I have been reported to management and even corporate from numerous members of my local. This is why I have told Tony to drive on but be very careful with goons who don't care about his well being.

The accusations of sexual harassment started with the President of my Local. He made various names on Facebook and used them to make it look like they knew me personally and accused me of various things including rape and sexual harassment. He used a distorted picture of Richard Hooker and they both went on to re-join the Vote No page to badger reformers. Mr. Bagby took it one step further. He used his wife's account (with name changed) to accuse me of numerous creepy allegations. The guy was too dumb to realize that his last name was identified in the Uniform Resource Locator (URL). Then all those accusations flowed over to BrownCafe. The pathetic part was that I was terminated from my employment and a kind hearted woman from Massachusetts started a GoFundMe for me and this man attacked me under those names calling me a rapist. The funny part of it all was that the company dropped the sexual harassment less than a week after walking me out the door and stated that I was now being terminated for failure to follow instructions. I still never got my answers as to what instructions I failed to follow. After I got back to work, I found out that a woman summoned LP to her work area and demanded I not work at UPS because I owned guns and I was a danger. The LP manager took her to the side and 5 people lined up to give him statements as well. Nobody in my so called "Brotherhood" told me. A supervisor told me about it on the down low. He knew I was being roped and felt it necessary to divulge that info. So, it never surprised me when I was accused of threatening Mr. Bagby and terminated again. AND, yes, the company did in fact doctor a video of me and used it at my panel hearing. Originally they accused me of flailing my arms when I was simply pointing to fliers in my hand and in the video shown at the hearing I had my hands on my waist the whole time. They wanted me so bad, they had the Region Labor Manager, Rob Cowie there during each hearing. They sheltered Clarence with an on going lie to remove me from my livelihood.

If you want, you can ask any person mentioned. I have all proof that the company and these members in my union are pathetic liars. I could go on and on about other people who did me just as dirty. Just be careful in all you do.


BTW, I saw the jerk off (Rob Cowie) months later standing on the walkway speaking to 3 other managers. I was walking in to work and he spotted me. He turned so I couldn't stare him down. I yelled "Hey Rob. Nice video" The Division manager said, "Me?" I said, "No, I am speaking to that coward right there" pointing at him. I made my voice more audible. I said, "Nice video you presented at panel!". He kept his back turned towards me. Fuking coward POS.
