Davison MIA at Day Sort Information Meeting

I was on vacation but here’s part of the report from Tony Cochran. As Watcher requested I am creating a separate thread:

“To return to the meeting, Davison obviously couldn't show up for Day Sort Obliteration Explanation Meeting to provide details - as limited as they were - that everyone with less than a year would be laid off on all shifts in both major UPS Portland hubs, that MRAs+GWIs+longevity raises are not transferable, so therefore someone taking a transfer to Tacoma would make a minimum of $4.75 an hour less, andthat many on the Swan Island Day Sort would still not be able to find positions on those other shifts for months and months because the Local has no clue what is happening ...

because he is Local 162 President, Joint Council 37 President, IBT International Vice President, IBT Western Region Package Division Representative, Trustee and Union Chair for the Oregon Teamster Employers Trust, Chair of the UPS Retirees Subsidy Fund, Trustee on the Teamsters Western Region & Local 177 (New Jersey) Health Care Plan and IBT Western Region Package Director.

The man literally works at least 6 full-time jobs. That's an incredible 48 hours a day, not including his charity work, making music videos from the 1980s and playing golf. How is he expected to operate on the same level as us common 24-hour clock folk? No Sleep Til Brooklyn?“

Isn't he at panels in San Diego? He is the western area representative. No?

He ducked the mtg! It was Sunday morning. The closure of the shift almost 300 people affected and its his Local. He screwed the west on the sup and he can't face his own membership tells me all I need to know.

You mean he allowed New England, central and southern states to get $5 in H&W and let the West get $2.50 and called it historic?

More sad are the rest of the locals that new it was wrong and didn't speak out.

Pasco, indeed, he did not want to face the members. I believe that's why he sent - an entirely unprepared farce of man - Ben Vedus down to tell us that he would like to thank UPS labor management as they had been very professional and conscientious. Half the room, full of sycophants, appointed stewards and the like clapped, the other half did not.

Faust, and with UPS rapidly killing off its workforce every $1 into the H&W fund is needed. At this rate, I sure there will need to be pension cuts within the next decade.

I don't know the specifics of his schedule - he really has far too many jobs. But when you have an entire shift obliterated at the biggest UPS facility in your JC, you need to show up.
